Re: [Repeater-Builder] Re: coax question
In a duplex situation, you need as a minimum RG-214/U (must be the real stuff with silver plating). This would be used from transmitter and receiver to duplexer. From the duplexer to the antenna would depend on distance. 7/8 hardline preferred, 1/2 hardline acceptable. 73 Glenn WB4UIV At 11:33 AM 07/31/05, you wrote: Hi Glenn, VHF highband and 25 watts --- In Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com, Glenn Little WB4UIV [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: For what frequency, power, intended use? 73 Glenn WB4UIV At 10:13 AM 07/31/05, you wrote: Hi, Just a question to ask what type of coax which you would recommend? [Repeater-Builder] Re: CSC CWID manual needed
Hi Jerry, I believe it is a CWID-51B. We have the ID chip programmed, but are having a problem figuring out the terminal strip assignments on the back. If we can get that information, it will help out greatly, but if we need to repair the unit later, the service manual will be of great importance. Re: [Repeater-Builder] Re: midland 13-509 220mhz to convert to repeater
I built one up and while it worked OK with an external preamp, the crystal drift over temp was always a problem even with a wide temp range crystal and to keep the heat in check, I reduced the power to 10 watts. It worked about 95% with the problem above on dead cold and over 105 temp days. Mel K6KBEk3phl [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I opted to split a Midland 13-513. The PA runs 20-30 watts, is synthesized, and has a much better receiver than the drifty and rather deaf 509. The operating manual also has a full schematic as well as the point to point wiring between the individual boards. It even includes receiver and transmitter alignment instructions. Although I did not document the procedure to split, it works very well as a primary or backup repeater. For those not familiar with the radio, there is currently one on Ebay if you search for keyword "Midland 220"Regards,SteveK3PHLhttp://mywebpages.comcast.net/k3phl--- In Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com, "w8qpo" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>wrote: hello, anybody have details of converting midland 13-509 220mhz radio to repeater? RE: [Repeater-Builder] coax question
Well, I'll toss FSJ1-50 into the mix. No worries about percentage of shield, or bimetallic problems. It's 1/4 miniature hardline. It connects nicely into PL-259 connectors with the larger adaptor, and into N and BNC connectors. 100% shielding. Yahoo! [Repeater-Builder] (slightly off topic)UHF Amplifier
Does anyone has a (repeater duty) UHF amp that puts out about 50- 75watts continuous duty with around 3-15watts in? In decent condition that will work in the 445-450 range. If anyone would be able to donate one it would be very much appreciated. The reason for post is that I am 14yrs old and the cash on my machine is tight (built totally by myself). It would be nice to take some of the strain off of my current transmitter and actually be heard. This is the last peice that I need so I can lock the door on the cabinet and walk away. RE: [Repeater-Builder] 10 Meter Repeater
Is there a such thing as a duplexer for 10 meters?? Ever seen a Quonset hut? :) 6M duplexers are huge.. You might be as well off using coax stub duplexers. Someone was just talking about those in the last week or two. OTOH, if you can put your receiver and transmitter any appreciable distance apart, and use two antennas and feedline, then you just need to wireline the audio signals between them. Yahoo! OTOH, if you can put your receiver and transmitter any appreciable distanceapart, and use two antennas and feedline, then you just need to wireline theaudio signals between them. If you can procuretwo more GE's there is a mod out there to take a UHF and a Low-Band and set them up in crossband as just one unit. UseUHF as the link frequency between RX/TX. I believe NHRC has it on their site. That or get another lowband GE, put the RXrock only in it (NO CONVERSION) just get the COR/AUDIO/GND taps out of itand use a separate (synthesized) link radio the the $89 NHRC controller to trigger the link tx. 73 Andy __Do You Yahoo!?Tired of spam?
