[Repeater-Builder] Re: Induced RF on tower - May cause desense, too?
We experienced a similar situation with an VHF repeater two years ago. The culprit was traced down to rusty bolts on the Rohn 25 tower. Tapping on the tower legs with a large hammer would make the problem go away for a short period of time, but it would return in a few weeks or days. Finding and replacing the bolts cured the problem. [Repeater-Builder] Re: Illegal uhf repeater
Before you "put a uhf repeater on the air," you need to be assigned a frequency by the Mid-America Coordination Council (MACC). The Nebraska coordinator is John Gebuhr WB0CMC and he may be contacted at the address listed in www.qrz.com He will mail you the required forms and upon successful completion of the coordination process you will be assigned a repeater pair. If you have reason to believe that a repeater is being operated contrary to Part 97 (ie; no control operator) you may report this information to John. In addition to being the Nebraska coordinator, he is also an 'OO' and will investigate your allegation. --- In [EMAIL PROTECTED], "nebraska_ham" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: please help us and tell us how we should proceed. we are attempting to put a uhf repeater on the air and someone is using the frequency we intended to go on. the repeater has been abandonded as the repeater owner moved away several years ago. i am guessing that we just df the transmitter and take it down. attempts to find the repeater owner are useless as he left the state years ago. we heard that the owner who abandoned it is now on the west coast, there are a few rumors that he is in the military out of country. advice is appreciated here since the fcc is so useless. [Repeater-Builder] Re: CSC CWID manual needed
Hi Jerry, I believe it is a CWID-51B. We have the ID chip programmed, but are having a problem figuring out the terminal strip assignments on the back. If we can get that information, it will help out greatly, but if we need to repair the unit later, the service manual will be of great importance. Thanks much !! 73, Frank - WB0QQK --- In Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > Frank Please give me the exact model #., I think I have the manual. > > Do you have a source to program the ID chip?? > > Jerry VE3 EXT Yahoo! [Repeater-Builder] Re: OT: NC man charged with 'driving a cop car' due to ham antennas
As an amateur radio operator and 30 year law enforcement veteran, I agree with you Lance. After blowing up the photo of the 1995 Caprice displayed on the jars webpage, I'm somewhat curious to know why the defendant has an MPH K-55 mobile radar unit mounted on the dash? I'm sure it's not for chasing DX on 10,525 mHz. Seems to me that the police and prosecutor are probably on the same page with this case and the arrestee is trying to play the "ham card" as a defense. I'm curious to know if anyone is using a B93 Micor station on two- meters and what if any modifications are required to make it operate? Yahoo!
