Well thats not the case A single Track has a Artist Tag thats used by lms! If you want to see all tracks from an artist - you need to put all tracks from all artists together - winamp cant do that! If one Album has more than one Artist - you need to make a decision. Is it a Compilation or not. eg. Crossroads from Eric Clapton is a Best of from Eric Clapton with all of his Hits with all of his former Bands. If you want to see that as an compilation - you dont need anything further. If you dont want it as a compilation you can use - eg Albumartist "Eric Clapton" on all (not one) Track where the "Track" Artist is not Eric Clapton - Eric Clapton;Derek and The Dominos as "Track" Artist Feel free to use any Software you want and listen to music you like use our Tricks or not its up to you. If you would understand the decisions (not logical fallacy) that are needed to provide all the hidden stuff in a database that make using & quering fast you would see the "we must die way one or another" thats needed to do so. A wise Guy told me a long time ago -Computers help us to sort out things we never would have without Computers.- Another "wise" Guy (the same who was blamed for something he never said about "640K should be enough for everybody) Its not a bug its a feature. cheers DJanGo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1516 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106970 ___ ripping mailing list ripping@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping

The Beatles 2009 remasters have more bass and they are louder than the Red Book versions. So you didnt have the "same" Albums you have two (in my case 3 cause i still listend to the vinyl ones) different Versions. You are using windooze? http://help.mp3tag.de/main_scripting.html Imho (based on experience since 1997 when i started with mp3) its better to "script" something that runs one file after another than load them (thats my definition of mass tagging) once into some gui and run things. And be prepared to only write one tag (id3v2.x) not both but read v1 as well (if you want to see the file) Again look@ the Samplers first! And only one file is needed to re-sort all from the Artist/Band Gruss Jan DJanGo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1516 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105532 ___ ripping mailing list ripping@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping

Re: [SlimDevices: Ripping] Tagging Odd Singles question
Hi, since i was grown up in the 70' 80' i have a very huge bunch of 12'' Vinyls. And i always tag them as they should be. Cause the uk Version of some (most of) singles are different than some italian or german pressing. Sometimes just extended remixes or a completlty different tracksetup. And CDs from Japan (where i good friend works and do me some presents) are also other than german/uk ones. So in my opinion it doesnt make sense to get them together as they are different. But what has this todo with Hardlinks? Re: [SlimDevices: Ripping] Tags album artist and compilation, important to use album artist and clr comp
BJW wrote: No problem. when i tag, i put all the artists on any given track into one artist tag. i always do it that way, for all CDs. but since i normally browse by albumartist, thats how i think to myself where something is. i don't have a mental rolodex of my artist tags (b/c that list is much bigger), but i do basically of my albumartist tags. so while prince or billy joel might have guest artists on a lot of their songs, i only use Prince or Billy Joel for albumartist values. Hi, but if you do it that way, you got a big list of Artists and if you want to hear a other Version of some song with another guest artist you have a lot to do. I do it that way: Sampler Album/Album track artist Title Normal Album Artist/Album/Artist Album track Title And Albums with guest stars Artist/Album/Artist Album track Title (feat) guest But there is no way to go - the big thing is that the owner of the Musik is happy and find his stuff.
