Re: [Sabily.team] Suspension of Sabily 12.04!
Well, for the first decision I take it with Mehdi (after a private discussion), and after getting a lot of demands to support LTS version, I re-discussed with Mehdi our old choice and we decided to change it to be aligned with Sabily fans wishes, so I asked brother Mehdi to make an announcement to the public explaining that, but as I see he hadn't the time even for that, he just answer to your mail quickly! inshalla if I have the time today or tomorrow I will announce that on sabily homepage with explanation... 2012/9/13 meorbu a meo...@hotmail.com Actually I'm slightly confuse for this situation. Why Bro Abdelmonam had annouced that it will be suspended and post on Sabily homepage. Now you say that 12.04 should release and skip 12.10. Are you(Sabily management members) not discuss yet about it before make decision and announce the result? So, final decision should be make and explaination on Sabily homepage is needed. Re: [Sabily.team] Suspension of Sabily 12.04!
I'm still waiting...keep spirit sabily 12.04 LTS has suspended, and now we are release sabily 12.10 insaAllah, and release sabilynour 12.04.1 LTS i'm still working with razor-qt desktop insaAllah...thanks for your support... 2012/9/6 meorbu a meo...@hotmail.com I think LTS is for Ubuntu. We should make Ubuntu 12.04 able to use Sabily 12.10 PPA then can be convert to Sabily. Is it possible? I'm not sure. Other else you can manually convert Ubuntu 12.04 to Sabily. Then you get Sabily 12.04 LTS (by using item of Sabily 12.10). meorbu http://www.linuxsabily.blogspot.com/ -- Date: Wed, 5 Sep 2012 14:17:05 +0100 From: xashi...@gmail.com To: sabily.team@lists.launchpad.net Subject: Re: [Sabily.team] Suspension of Sabily 12.04! Assalamu Aleykum all, 1204 is a Long Term Support (LTS version). Does this mean there won't be a Sabily LTS version? I only ask this because i had a particular interest in an LTS version and was planning to setup a Linux Terminal Server Project(LTSP) using Sabily soon insha Allah. There is off course Edubuntu LTSP which is LTS, but i wanted Sabily due to the environment this is being implemented in being a masjid/madrassa and the Sabily theme and collection of applications would suit it better. In fact the lack of resources is the handicap. And because the next version of ubuntu (12.10) will be released in the next few weeks, we see that releasing Sabily 12.04 at this time has no meaning. That's why Sabily Management Committee announce to you the suspension of Sabily 12.04 and the deferment of the codename Ibn-AlBaytar to the next release 12.10 inshalla. We hope that we find more resources in term of developers, graphical designers, packagers, iso builders... for next releases inshalla. The most important news in Sabily Ibn-Albaytar is the integration of the new Quran study tool Elforkane. Re: [Sabily.team] Suspension of Sabily 12.04!
Walaikomussalam, I had requested before to release Sabily once a year since we had less of manpower. Is it just for this year we suspend it? Anyway I hope Sabily will continously release and I always wait for it. Please add Zekr 1.1.0 on Sabily next release. meorbu From: abdelmonam.ko...@gmail.com Date: Thu, 30 Aug 2012 14:32:17 +0100 To: sabily.team@lists.launchpad.net Subject: [Sabily.team] Suspension of Sabily 12.04!
