records all the specifications that are involved in the development and
coding process.

· Ensures that all the standard requirements have been met and is
involved in performing the technical analysis.

· Responsible for assisting the project manager by compiling
information from the current systems, analyzing the program requirements
and ensuring that it meets the specified time requirements.

· Resolves moderate problems associated with the designed programs
and provides technical guidance on complex programming.

· Engaged in developing test plans so that the developed programs
can be verified to ensure its applicability and smooth operation.

· Reviews these programs to ensure that high levels of quality are
being met.

· Remains updated with the current technical trends so as to remain
abreast with the ongoing and current industry standards.

· Involved in testing the ETL modules, plans, deploys, and tests
the ETL mappings, etc., to ensure that the clients remain satisfied.

· Responsible for translating the functional requirements so as to
meet the specified technical requirements.

· Engaged in counseling the subordinates on applications of data
cleansing, data analysis, data matching, etc.

· Resolves and escalates the issues in a timely fashion and helps
in the supporting and maintenance activities. Thus, he/she needs to handle
a wide range of tasks.

· Improve existing data designs and design new databases and data
models, including relational table structures, using Unix Shell Scripting,

· Installation of Windows and SQL Server based business

· Perform, Design, documentation, development, testing,
installation and support of complex data extract transformation and load
(ETL) programs using PL/SQL, C++, C#, Informatica 9.0 (and earlier
versions), PowerCenter, DataQuality and Data Profiling as well as knowledge
of data warehousing and data mart architectures, concepts and processes

· Conduct the design and development of ETL code to extract,
cleanse, aggregate, and load large datasets into an analytical data
warehouse, using detailed knowledge of extract, transform and load
procedures, technologies, techniques and test approaches. Read and
translate logical data models and use ETL skills to load the physical
layer, based on an understanding of timing of data loads, data
transformation, and optimization of ETL load performance

· Co-ordinate with infrastructure teams to ensure adequate capacity
and performance planning of newly installed applications

· Research, design, configure, troubleshoot, document, and support
vendor software and custom, in-house applications.

· Ability to translate business requirements into detailed
technical specifications and tasks for application features and
improvements, and provide estimates and timelines for those tasks.

· Perform design, systems analysis, and development activities
which may require research.

· Maintain and enhance existing software as well as design and
implement new software.

· Provide production support for vendor software and custom
applications as needed.

· Effectively function and communicate within a technical team
consisting of developers, quality assurance, business analysts, and project

Informatica/ETL specialist with a strong background in FTP.  This person
will need to have worked with a Scheduler (ideally Informatica's native
scheduler) and will need to understand the process of how FTP functions so
their FTP experience must be very strong.



Currently, files come into their system via GlobalScape which then triggers
Informatica to schedule the files to be sent/compiled, etc. to their
destination. The plan is to implement additional modules (by a different
team) in GlobalScape so that the organization can get a better handle on
what files are being sent and when...if there is a failure, they will be
able to easily troubleshoot, and proactively monitor file traffic.

*Job Description:*



· Experience with ETL

· Informatica 9.0 with Power Center experience.

· Expertise in Oracle enterprise warehouse databases with Oracle
11G PL/SQL.

· Strong working knowledge of Informatica version 9.0 with
PowerCenter experience in development, maintenance, and enhancement of
mappings, workflows, and processes.

· Knowledge in performance tuning, load optimization for
Informatica batch processes and enforcing best practices.

· Ability to analyze and retrieve metadata from Informatica
repository and working experience in CDC will be a plus.

· Programming experience in SQL and PL/SQL, as well as working
knowledge in performance tuning and SQL optimization.

· Knowledge of UNIX scripting.

· Knowledge of slowly changing (Type 2) dimensions and
understanding in data sources and data modeling concepts.

· Strong communication skill to work with client, business users,
and team members.

· Ability to work
independently.




*RESPONSIBILITIES: *

· Migrate data from a legacy system to a Cognos reporting
application.

· Design, build, test activities in Informatica.  Work with
functional and data modelling team on source to target matrix to translate
requirements into ETL.

· Develop new and testing existing mappings.

· Demonstrate in-depth understanding of Data Warehousing (DWH) and
ETL concepts, ETL loading strategy, data archiving, data reconciliation,
ETL error handling, error logging mechanism, velocity standards and best
practices
