Re: MUSCLE problem of Gemplus GPR400 PCMCIA sample
Hi Karl, have a look at gprread.c/gpr_init - this function has the reader device name hardwired into it. At some point I modified the card reader name there but forgot to update the documentation. If you just rename /dev/smartcard to /dev/gpr400 you should be fine. BTW: you should also change the device permissions to 0666 so an ordinary user can access the reader. Cheers, Wolf. The module loads fine and I have the device node there: crw-rw-r-- 1 root root 123, 0 /dev/smartcard I think the problem is with how I compiled the TCL stuff. It compiles with no problem. I load tclsh. Then: %load "./libcard.so.0.9" no problem. %card init responds with card init:no card reader found This is my first experience with TCL at all, so I'm thinking it's something simple I'm missing. If you can think of anything or need any additional info let me know. In the meantime I'll hit: http://dev.scriptics.com/software/tcltk/ and see if I can't educate myself some. Still I won't waste bandwidth with an apology so here's how I got cardmgr to see the pcmcia reader: In /etc/pcmcia/config I added the following lines: in the device section: device "gpr400_cs" class "serial" module "gpr400_cs" Then down with the other serial devices I added: card "GEMPLUS" version "GEMPLUS", "GPR400", "V1.1", "" bind "gpr400_cs" And now cardmgr happily beeps on card insertion and insmods just fine on its own. Of course I can't get TCL to see it yet, but that's another story. I'll let you know when I get that fixed too :) Karl *** Linux Smart Card Developers - M.U.S.C.L.E. Re: MUSCLE problem of Gemplus GPR400 PCMCIA sample
Dear Lo, some months ago, I also tried to get along with the GPR400 drivers along. I got the driver directly from Gemplus (it was not available from the MUSCLE site on that time). Unfortunately, I was not able even to build it because a number of files were missing in the package I got. Gemplus kept silent (I have to admit, this never happened before) and I gave my attempts after some while up. After compiled it with pcmcia-cs-3.1.8 under RedHat 6.2 and plugged the reader, it gave me a message like this: Oct 5 18:37:41 localhost cardmgr[345]: initializing socket 0 . Have any one ever built and loaded it successful? Or could anyone give me a hint to solve this problem? Thank you a lot! *** Linux Smart Card Developers - M.U.S.C.L.E.
