SD Looking for personal help with my 89 Daytona

2005-03-06 Thread Bill Moller
2.5 turbo running like complete crap.

Might be vacuum lines... Might be stuck injector Might be the fact that
is has 180k miles on it and it is time to go

Either way I would like to give it one last chance to drive me around
this year. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to begin with this car and
am looking for someone to come over to my place and help me diagnose the
patient. I don't want to have to tow it to the dealership :-(

Don't want anyone to go out of their way so I am hoping someone is close me
(Chelsea Michigan) and can come take a look.

I will buy you lunch and pay your gas :-)

If you want to assist drop me an e-mail at [EMAIL PROTECTED] so we
don't have to bore the rest of the list with my begging.

TIA,

Bill

SD Timing belt tensioner counterclockwise?

2005-03-06 Thread amoparx
Hi All,

This may sound like a stupid question, (since I've replaced a million timing
belts) but which way is the big nut on the timing belt tensioner, supposed to
turn? I know either way will tighten the belt, but I can't get at a diagram
right now. My garage needs to be cleaned. LOL. I believe it's
counterclockwise. I think I remember the tool that's used to tension it hangs
to the left, but can't remember for sure.

Thanks

the rears clear but have heard from a few that they were not successful in
mounting a set of 15 [pumper] rims on the front. If I recall correctly my
VNT Shadow had the same large brakes as the Daytona Shelby\VNT LeBaron GTC

Offset of the pumper wheel, both 15 and 16
Info on the offset of the chevy Beretta GTZ\GTU wheels (15)
A definite YES or NO from those who HAVE tried, not looking for I think it
should work

Thanx.

All of the GTZ/GTU wheels I've seen are 16
Ive seen the wheels on a 89 Lebaron GTS (Turbo II/555)

SD Clutch Questions on 85 SC....

2005-03-06 Thread Mike Fisher
Ok, heres the big question. Today, while I was running at the track, I
went to grab 4th and the clutch pedal went limp and that was that. So
anyway, I pulled off the track, popped the hood and looked at the clutch
arm, and it was up in the disengaged position and it didnt seem to want
to go back. Anyway, I started it in gear, and it started and drove, so
the pressure plate basically sounds like its broke. My question is, what
should I replace it with. What kind of clutch will stand up to pretty
good abuse at the track. The one that was in there was basically stock,
and was about 12 years old, but only had maybe 1200 miles on it. I keep
reading about some hybrid R/T clutch set up that is supposed to be good,
but Im not sure that will will work with my crank bolt setup and a 525
tranny. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
