To my knowledge, there is no such things as a 89-90 Shadow convertible.

You'd better check exactly what car that ECU was from.

91 was the first year for the Shadow Convertible and they had

 Mike

Semi daily driver... that is a shame. While I do believe these cars should
be driven, when it comes to an original survivor car they shouldn't.
*everything is only virgin once*Survivor Vega, Pacer, Gremlin... it
isn't the car in question so much, but the fact that something preserved in
new condition is a *historic* example of what was and will never be, and
once it starts deteriorating... it's gone forever.
Anyone notice the factory plastic on the CSX? Looks like the throttle cable
is wrapped, too.
I believe they have an IROC R/T in factory delivered condition, also.

SD Logic Module Identification

2005-04-30 Thread chryguy
Hello Everybody,

I have several logic modules here, and I don't know what they go to.

First and most puzzling is 5226794/5 ? This must be an 86 module, because it
has a built-in MAP sensor.

It has both numbers on the EPROM...with a slash of orange grease pencil in
between them...does that just mean it will work in 2 different applications?

Then comes 5249671...it has a piece of tape on the EPROM with the 671 hand
written.

  And finally,5233171...

I assume that the last 2 are 87's because there is no built-in MAP sensor.

Would any of these make a good candidate for a TII conversion?

Thanks in advance for any and all help...

I'm going to look at a 1990 Plymouth Voyager 2.5 T1 minivan for sale
today. I have been trying to get with the seller for a few weeks and
finally got their address to see it. The van has no spark and I have
already asked you guys what the problem might be (Thanks for the replies)
and think that I have developed a semi-methodical approach to figuring out
the problem.

I had a car recently with the same general problem that quite a number of
local people couldn't figure out. In the end what it turned out to be was a
poor connection to the power module computer. If you'd turn the key to the
on position and poke at the connector you'd hear the fuel pump activate
and after a good cleaning of the outlets for the computer pins it would
finally run once again.

Yes, manual and auto cars have much different AIS control. There were
no 2.5 T1's in '88, that's why '88 T1 computers are different than '89
T1 computers. The programming in '89 T1's is also far more advanced
than all the other SMEC's..
Even if you don't have the ability to modify your own computer, you
may consider downloading D-Cal and the images of the SMEC roms and
comparing them. It's very informative..

SD looking to make a simple trade

2005-04-30 Thread Moparmat2000
hi all
i have a stack of 5 used headlamp door control modules for the 1989 G and J
body cars. these modules only fit 89 G and J body, and the interchangable part
numbers are as follows
4437107 and 4503026

i do not have any 89 model turbo mopars in my stable
i am willing to trade these 89 modules i have to anyone who needs them for:

the 87/88 type headlamp control modules with part numbers
4437108 and 4503024

the 87 and 88 ones will interchange with each other but will not interchange
and work on an 89 and vice versa. lebaron and daytona of the same years will
interchange even tho G body has 2 headlamp door motors and the J body has only
1 headlamp door motor, as the control box is the same for both cars.

i have no way of testing the 89 modules since i do not own this year G or J
body car, so its pot luck. i do not care if the 87/88 modules i get on exchange
are intermittent in operation, i will repair them as needed.

let me know if you are interested in this. you pay shipping to get them to me
on your end, and i will do the same on my end sending the 89 modules to you.

i am only interested in the 87/88 module part numbers i have listed.

thanks
mat

SD 89 Turbo-mini Only...ECU

2005-04-30 Thread chryguy
Richard is correct, the case is unique to the minivans.

I and others, including Gus and Paul Smith have used other 89 TI computers to
test our Minivans.
They will work, but you can't screw them down because of the case difference.

Point is...they will work for testing...or if you can't find a Minivan specific
SMEC.

Same thing for the 90 SBEC's...I have a friend who's running his van on a car
computer because he couldn't find a minivan computer.

Of course in all instantances the computers were TI Auto's...
