SD $700 -'90 spirit ES turbo - lots of good parts - turbo smokes
Hello all. It's a White 1990 Spirit ES and the car has been my daily driver for years (until last spring) and has been a real good, reliable car. The current mileage is 120,080 and the car is located in 48038 Clinton Township Michigan (just north of Detroit). I'm reducing the price to $700 but if it doesn't find a home with this price, I'm gonna donate the car to a charity group and take the tax write off - a shame because it's a real nice car - just in need of a good used turbo and paint. The bad parts about the car are these: 1. The turbo is leaking oil into the exhaust and the shaft has some play - so at the least it needs bearings and seals. It does boost up just fine, so I'm assuming the rest of the turbo is fine too. 2. The body has some rust on the bottom of the doors, bottom lip of the trunk lid and front lip of the hood. It also has some surface rust and lots of peeling paint on the roof - the undercarriage is pretty rusty as well. 3. The auto trans is getting tired - it scoots ok, but not the best from the 1st to 2nd shift - it may just need the bands adjusted but I wouldn't bet too much money on that. Please don't let this part scare you, for a daily driver, you won't have a drop of trans problems, only if you're pushing it to the limit. Believe me it still gets up and goes very, very well. The reason for my getting rid of it is that I'm just not interested in repairing the turbo as it's a PITA and the body work is not something I do. So, it's been a great car, but it's time to move on. I have some pics already but I can try to take detailed pics if you need, just let me know. Here's the list of interesting items. Performance parts 1. Garret Turbo 2 (needs new bearings) - smokes when first started 2. 2.5 downpipe 3. Braided Aeroquip hoses for oil and water to turbo 4. 58mm throttlebody - one of a kind that has the proper cam lever for the automatic kickdown. 5. Ported 1 piece intake manifold - ported at the head and matched to the 58mm throttlebody. 6. Swirl Head has polished chambers, is lightly ported on the runners, lots of bowl work and a 3 angle valve job with Gary D's recommended angles with stock valves. Maybe 10,000 miles on the rebuilt head. 7. Exhaust manifold is lightly ported and has a thermocouple attached. 8. 87 Daytona Radiator and intercooler 9. OEM intercooler hoses and Air Filter Box 10. Oversize auto trans cooler Extras 1. Everything Works!! 2. AC works GREAT - good old R12 not the crumby new stuff. This baby gets cold. 3. Very clean interior - door panels, seats, trim, even the headliner looks great. 4. Sony CD player with built in EQ and Sub Crossover and aftermarket speakers - I don't remember exactly but I think they're Boston Acoustic's. 5. Wired for amps in the trunk. 6. Cruise works great 7. Power windows, mirrors, driver's seat and locks all work. 8. All wheel disk brakes. 9. Like new tires. ---REMOVE-FOOTER-WHEN-REPLYING Questions? SD FS 1990 White Spirit Turbo - lots of goodies but needs some stuff - $1500
Hello all. I'm going to try and sell this car whole as I've received lots and lots of e-mails looking to buy the race parts but I'm pretty busy and would rather not remove everything. Here's the details. It's a White 1990 Spirit ES and the car has been my daily driver for years (until last week) and has been a real good, reliable car. The current mileage is 120,080 and the car is located in Clinton Township Michigan (just north of Detroit). I would like to get $1500 but if I'm way off course, someone politely let me know. SD Part it out or sell it whole?
Hello guys. I live in Clinton Township Mi (just north of Detroit) and My 90 2.5 Turbo Spirit ES 's turbo died and I have no intentions on fixing it again as the body is starting to rust and the paint is peeling badly on the roof. Kelly Blue Book.com says it's worth about $900 but there's some pluses to this car. The AC works GREAT!, and it's got a (dieing) turbo 2 turbo and intercooler, ported head with gasket matched and polished chambers. The intake and exhaust are also both slightly opened up and the neck of the intake has been taper ported to match the 58mm throttle body. The interior is also in great shape - the seats and door panels are near mint. I'm just not sure if it's worth alot more in parts or if anyone would even be interested in it whole. Any help is appreciated. Howard ---REMOVE-FOOTER-WHEN-REPLYING Questions? Visit http://www.sdml.org/ To be removed, visit http://www.sdml.org/pages/leave.html
SD FS-Mopar performance G head stock G head + other stuff
Hello all I have a couple of parts for sale- 1. an old Mopar Performance head that is a G casting. It doesn't have the valves and I don't think it's the extra large valve version. The ports are clearly larger than a stock G head but they are untouched and only as cast. The holes take 11mm head bolts and the head could use a cleaning - $150 plus shipping. 2. a stock G head -complete but dissassembled. NO CRACKS between the valves! The date code says 84 and this head also takes 11mm head bolts. This head is could also use a cleaning. - $75 plus shipping 3. Ultra Club (steering wheel lock) - near mint shape with 2 keys - $15 plus shipping 4. T2 exhaust manifolds - 1 is stock and the other is tapped for a thermocouple - both are in excellent shape - $15 plus shipping each. 5. 1985 2.2 turbo driveability book - not available to gen public - $10 plus shipping 6. Vortec FMU - Rising rate fuel pressure regulator - great shape - $40 plus shipping I can take pics or answer questions if ya need. Thanx, Howard ---REMOVE-FOOTER-WHEN-REPLYING Questions? Re: SD coolant pipe crush washer
Hiya Paul. If I understand you correctly, you're talking about the large metal pipe that's like a drain trap or a U that threads into the head at the t-stat box. Anyway, I just used a standard pipe thread - I think 3/4 NPT - that you can get at most hardware stores. It might be 1/2 NPT but I think that's too small. Just clean the threads in the head good and wrap it with pipe tape or silicone and you should be good to go. Howard ---REMOVE-FOOTER-WHEN-REPLYING Questions?
