Hi John,

I'd appreciate others' comments to this, as all I'm sharing is my gut
feeling based on my limited experiences.

I tried drinking a fair amount of CS as you did, many ounces a day
of probably 20ppm or more. After a week or two I began to have
intestinal problems as well as just feeling poorly. When I started to
have acute muscle and joint pains in my legs, hips and back I got
really concerned. I stopped taking the CS but continued to get worse,
rather than better.

Now you might wonder if I'm describing a herx. I don't really think
so, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I'm basically healthy. I'm not
fighting Lyme or any chronic disease I'm aware of. My original cause
for using CS was to beat back the bronchitis and other upper
respiratory infections I used to have.

The other reason I don't think is was a herx, is what solved it. Jim
Einert, our resident ND, had made a couple of suggestions to another
list member who described having very similar muscle and joint
symptoms. One of the things he said to try was calcium.

This got me thinking about basic nutrition, and I had my wife buy me
one of those calcium enriched orange juices. I drank only two 4
ounce servings over twelve hours and was immediately much better.

What I believe happened is I had thoroughly wiped out my intestinal
flora, such that I couldn't absorb many nutrients. I had driven my
nutritional state, and probably body chemistry, way out of whack.

So my response to what you've described is that you're probably not
being subtle enough in designing your regimen. Others here can
recommend steps to restore and support your overall balance better
than I can. But I think that is what is going to be needed if you're
going to use a lot of CS (or anything else for that matter) for a
long time.

> I am now temporarily switching back to Dr. Farber's Colloidal
> Silver Protein - as I had my best overall results with it. Though

> I've been much worse.

If you read on the Advantage Pharmaceutical site you'll see they
suggest other things to do while you are treating your Lyme. I'm not
sure you'll feel any better until your digestion gets back to normal,
whichever product you're going to use.

> Does anyone know how to make Colloidal Silver Protein?

Yeah, Dr. Farber and his people?

> Is there a machine I can buy or make myself to generate it?

I've never heard a discussion of just how they produce their product.
I believe they use some pretty high quality methods to control the
quality. I don't think I'd try to duplicate it, although the high
cost is an incentive.

> I would greatly appreciate any help. I don't think the homemade
> silver I'm making with my 27 volt generator is strong enough.

The reason we're pursuing the low voltage generators as well as
others, is because anybody can do it that way. I'm not sure, based on
your description, that it's the fault of the CS. You may need to do
some other things to support your body during treatment.

> Thank you. Take Care.

Good luck, John!

Awww, yer all a bunch of anarchists! Warms my heart!

Still, Deb, if you could let us know what you find out I for one
would really appreciate it. If it's really a worthwhile effort we
should know.

I'm skeptical whenever govt offers to "help" us. If they start
funding research, they start *controlling* it, too. When they have
the power to approve and sanction *any* project, they acquire the
implicit power to eventually prohibit all others.

In the meantime, we'll keep pluggin' along.

Thanks,

CS>A Call To Action by Dannion Brinkley

1998-10-02 Thread Buddhananda
A Call to Action by Dannion Brinkley

My friends, I come to you through Art Bell asking for you to take
action. Asking for you to stand up
as American Citizens and be heard. I have said to you many times to
be mindful of legislation and
to have your voice heard. We are at a junction where we as American
Citizens have an opportunity to
move health care forward by having our voice heard. I am asking for
your help in seeing that alternative
medicine research has an opportunity to move forward. As you know, I
have fully integrated
complementary and alternative therapies into my own health regimen
and because of that I, even after
lightning injury, heart and brain surgeries, I am alive and very
active today. I have been fortunate because
I have had access to many alternative practitioners and researchers.
Every American should have the
opportunity to determine whether or not they want to include
complementary and alternative therapies in
their treatment options. Only through rigorous and extensive
research can the safe and effective integration
of complementary and alternative therapies take place in this
country and good information from reliable
soures and the therapies themselves become available to everyone.

Every year, the United States Senate and House of Representatives
develop appropriation bills to fund the
activities of the various departments of the Federal Government. The
Department of Health and Human
Services' Appropriations Bill is scheduled to go to Committee next
week. This means that the members of
the Subcommittees on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and
Related Agencies
Appropriations from both the Senate and the House will sit down
together and look at the Senate and
House versions of the bill and bring the two bills together into one
bill.

The Senate has incorporated a measure to elevate the Office of
Alternative Medicine to become the Center
for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. In order for this to
happen, Congress must be
aware that it is what the people want-- they need to be aware of
your opinion.

Every day there is more information about alternative therapies in
the media and on the Internet - their uses
and their potential dangers. What is needed to determine efficacy
and safety is quality rigorous research
and access to research results. Research and information
dissemination takes focus and
   funding.

Congress, in part because you the people were heard, created the
Office of Alternative Medicine (OAM)
(then known as the Office of Unconventional Medical Practices) in
1991 with a $2 million budget. Over
the past 7 years the budget has grown to $20 million and now
requested to be $50 million. Research is
progressing slowly. More is needed and can only happen expediently
with the advancement of OAM to a
Center with a budget and personnel to accomplish the mission - to
investigate and evaluate alternative and
complementary therapies and make those research results known.
Making OAM a Center gives it
autonomy - it means that it would have grant making authority.

Currently, OAM as a part of the Office of the Director of NIH must
go through one of the research
Institutes or Centers to provide grant funding, clearing each grant
through that Institute or Centers
advisory council, acceptance to do so is not required or guaranteed.
For example, an alternative medicine
grant to investigate an alternative cancer therapy, after being
deemed by the OAM staff to be of scientific
merit and appropriate for funding by OAM, must be processed through
the National Cancer Institute and
be cleared by that Institute's Advisory Board - a board that does
not have any alternative medicine experts.
Currently the AMPAC, (the Alternative Medicine Program Advisory
Council) - the only HHS council on
alternative medicine, whose members are alternative medicine
researchers, practitioners, and patients,
does not review alternative medicine grants and determine whether
those grants should be funded or not
-which is one of the primary activities of other NIH councils.

The Center Bill was originally submitted to the Senate as: S.2420 -
A Bill to establish within the National
Institutes of Health an agency to be known as the National Center
for Complementary and Alternative
Medicine. The bill was sponsored by Sen Harkin, the co-sponsors to
date are: Sen Hatch, Sen Daschle,
Sen Craig, Sen Mikulski, Sen D'Amato, Sen Moseley-Braun, Sen
Grassley, and Sen Wellstone.

   WHAT CAN YOU DO?

   Get involved.

Do you want alternative medicine research to advance? Do you want
OAM to become a Center? If you do,

CS>Re: OFF TOPIC-Water Alkalizer - (Hydrogen H- Hunza-like water)

1998-10-02 Thread Joyce Inouye
I thought the following information might interest you.

HUNZA WATER

The Hunza's water is rain water that fell thousands of years ago; it has
no mineral salts like water found in springs. MICROCLUSTER was invented by
Flannagan to mimic Hunza water. Later, he invented Microhydrin. The
hydrogen proton makes acidic water, but the electrons make the water
basic.

MICROHYDRIN

One capsule of Microhydrin added to 8 ounces of water (the 2nd number is
taken after one hour):

Water Source (8 oz) pH Redox ORP mV
Before->Aftr   Before->After   Before->After

Crystal Geyser water8.08-> 9.56 35.7->5.8  +410-> -600
Black Mountain (bottled)7.24-> 9.25 30.2->4.5  +450-> -620
Organic juiced carrots  6.56-> 6.48 1.40->0.4  -120-> -580
Average changes in
  13 samples +2.23 -24.2 -960

Definitions:
1. pH = hydrogen ion concentration & activity level
2. ORP (oxidation/reduction potential) = measures the potential for a
reaction to occur; the electron concentration and activity level
(measured by small hand-held Redox meter.)
3. Redox (rH2) = is ORP of a body fluid measured at a specific pH.

Microhydrin is small, negatively charged mineral colloids (nanocolloids,
charged with negative hydrogen atoms). The minerals are food-grade
water-soluble silica, some fatty acids, magnesium and potassium (these are
essential nutrients found in foods). Negative hydrogen atoms are
called H minus (H-) or reduced hydrogen, a hydrogen which loosely holds
another electron in its outer shell. Hydrogen is in all foods and
water we ear and drink.

Some Uses for Microhydrin:

1. ANTIOXIDANT. Microhydrin is a powerful antioxidant; it provides
negative hydrogen ions to neutralize "bad free radicals." Although some
antioxidants become free radicals when they give up their electrons,
hydrogen gives away its extra electron so it becomes stable Hydrogen, with
one electron and one proton.

2. TEETH WHITENER. It's more effective than store-bought teeth
whiteners.

2. GOOD FOR GUMS. Early studies show reduced periodontal pocketing
by 2-3 mm in persons with 4-6 mm pockets. (Put a capsule of Microhydrin in
a half inch of Crystal Energy water in a 5 oz. dixie cup, dipping the
brush in the water, and brushing as usual over a period of time.)

3. DETOXIFIES YOUR BODY, MAKES NUTRIENTS AVAILABLE TO CELLS,

The clusters are about 5 nanograms (50 Angstoms, or 5 billioneth of a
meter)? and has great Zeta potential, or the ability to hold electric
charge. This Zeta potential helps suspend toxins and nutrients, so they
can easily pass through a cell wall to provide nourishment, remove wastes,
and rehydrate itself.

One doctor encapsulated insulin and Microhydrin, which patients took
orally. The insulin was able to bypass the intestinal wall and go
directly into the blood and to body tissues.

HEALTH

The hydrogen in the hydride (H-) state is in most fruits and vegetables;
in actively moving water (actively moving streams, rains, waterfalls); and
in water treated with electric and magnetic fields. Hydrogen is good for
athletes because it is food for mitochondria in making ATP (adenosine
triphosphate), the source of energy for your body. (Mitochondria are your
"power house," like a nuclear generator, and is about the size of some
bacteria.)

Healthy people, healthy plants, and healthy water tend to have more
negative ions than the sick. Chemically-grown carrots have no negative
ions, whereas freshly ground organic carrots have a desirable ORP of
100-300 millivolts, but starts to loose its negative charge after a few
hours. Cooking also looses its negative ions. Children have a higher
concentration of negative ions.

If I remember correctly, there is no hydrogen in the hydride (H-) state in
a cancer cell.

CS>Small Particle Atomization for Pulmonary Pathogens

1998-10-02 Thread Brooks Bradley

Our group has just completed some interesting, and rewarding, research
on animals (dogs and cats) suffering from both chronic and acute
pulmonary problems.
The protocol employed utilized 10ppm to 20ppm colloidal silver
solution atomized, by ultrasonic units, to 1 to 5 micron size. The
increase in effectivity of a mist cloud of this composition proved to be
almost one complete order of magnitude (10x) over conventional
vaporizers/nebulizers. Reliable ultrasonic atomizers/nebulizers are not
cheap, costing on the order of $300. to $600., but we achieved some
astonishing results through their use. (There are acceptable sources on
the Internet). This modality proved effective for complications of
certain, heretofore, unresponsive disorders of chronic emphysemic
types; and even one case of animal tuberculosis. When administering
the mist cloud it was essential to have the subject in very close
proximity to the generator. This is not a problem if the animal is
placed in a "close-quarters" confinementwhere they cannot turn
around.
We did not find any noticeable difference between 10ppm and 20ppm
CS. However, total time exposure was, definitely, of consequence in
determining both the speed of response and the completeness of
recovery. We had absolutely no "over exposure" complications; and no
detectable toxic effects beyond normal herxheimer responses in the more
advanced cases (primarily among the geriatric population).
Please note. Direct any email inquiries to my personal email
address. Also, please understand that I am unable to furnish details on
any of these protocols, beyond generalizations; as the results are
proprietary...and do not belong solely to the group. Maybe this
line of investigation will stimulate some on the list toward their own
evaluations. Best Regards to all. Brooks Bradley.

CS>progress report.

1998-10-02 Thread JohnJ
A while back I promissed to report my results with 32 ounces of homemade
colloidal silver per day.
After about two weeks my stomach was highly sensitive to the homemade CS I made
using a 27volt generator. I did have some positive results. But the results
were unsatifactory so I tried eating a lot of raw garlic. Over a period of
about one month, my raw garlic tolerance was up to sometimes two whole
bulbs(that's all the cloves on a bulb of garlic) of raw garlic a day. This
did make a big difference though my tolerance started to very and some days I
couldn't eat enough garlic to make enough difference. My plan of course was
to totally saturate my sell with garlic and drown all the Spirochetes.
My sisters boyfriend said something to the effect that I was prepared for both
vampires and Werewolves. This joke started with a comment dad made once years
ago when it was hot (over 80 degrees) - I was wearing about three layers of
clothing and Moon boots a tobogan and a coat to keep warm (This was one of my
Early Lyme Symptoms). Dad was talking to someone at a job I was working at
digging and said "I telling you. That boy's prepared. If a big old arctic
blast comes by, He'll be the only one that survives". Anyway I thought you
all might appreciate that one.

I am now temporarily switching back to Dr. Farber's Colloidal Silver Protein -
as I had my best overall results with it. Though within the three days I've
started back and a couple days before I've been much worse. Does anyone know
how to make Colloidal Silver Protein? Is there a machine I can buy or make
myself to generate it? I would greatly appreciate any help. I don't think the
homemade silver I'm
making with my 27 volt generator is strong enough. Thank you. Take Care.

Everyone, the following is a message I received from a friend of Joost
(jovo/Joseph) Vossen:

begin message:

I have very bad news.

Joost Vossen passed away in the afternoon of September 29 in Hongkong
(GMT +8). It happened in the ambulance that had come to get him from the
office as he had gotten seriously ill in the course off the day. He will
be buried in The Netherlands. The ceremony will take place next week.
His brother, also living in Hongkong, his children and other family are
now in The Netherlands to take care of him.

Your condolences and enquiries are welcome at my email. I will pass them

on to Joost's brother Roel. He thinks Joost would appreciate very much
a
continuation of his ('OUR' as Joost said emphatically in one of his last

posts) website, and so do I. We'll work things out after the ceremony.

Joost was fatally struck by a heart standstill.

May he rest in peace ...

CS>Intro and overview of CS...

1998-10-02 Thread M. G. Devour
To Gary and any other newcomers, Welcome. Here is the intro and
overview FAQ reposted. In addition to Bruce's site, these others will
give you a decent perspective and help you get started.

>>>

Greetings and welcome to the silver-list. This FAQ will give you a
brief introduction to the world of Colloidal Silver and an overview by
way of a few decent web sites.

INTRODUCTION:

First, please understand that a *lot* of what you'll find online
about colloidal silver (CS) is imprecise, unscientific, and hype.
There are almost no controlled studies of any kind. There is precious
little objective data to back up even the most fundamental claims.

Also, there is a backlash against colloidal silver from "debunkers"
who will do everything in their power to scare you away through
exaggeration and fear. They dismiss *all* favorable evidence and
results in apparent overreaction to the plentiful CS hype. Their
claims do not hold up in the face of readily available facts.

Most of the information you receive will be anecdotal testimony, to be
taken on faith or common sense until you can verify it yourself. And
be forewarned, you'll find yourself rubbing shoulders with advocates
of every kind of "alternative" medicine, from time honored to wildly
speculative.

What persists, when all is said and done, are the compelling
accounts of people who have successfully treated some very serious
conditions. They are not trying to sell you anything, but only want
others to be helped as they have been. It is these people that have
made me want to discover the truth about colloidal silver.

A WEB OVERVIEW:

A good jumping off point is this article by Peter Lindemann which lays
the groundwork and points out some of the mythology that confuses the
issue:

   http://www.elixa.com/silver/lindmn.htm

Commercial CS Generators:

These sites are good sources of CS information and low voltage
direct current CS generators:

   Elixa, http://www.elixa.com
   Sota Instruments, http://www.sota-inc.com/index.html

A variety of more sophisticated high-voltage AC and DC generators are
offered by:

   CS Pro Systems, http://www.csprosystems.com/

Build Your Own CS Generators:

It's easy and inexpensive to build your own CS generator. Plans and
instructions as well as kits and pre-wired units can be found at these
individuals' web sites:

   Mark Metcalf, http://www.silversolutions.com/
Read his Article One and Article Two, linked at the bottom of
  the left-hand frame

   Thomas Miller, http://www.bioelectrifier.com/
The link to the CS generator is near the bottom of the page.

Other Information And Product Sources:

   http://www.wwmagic.com/clearlake/index.html
They sell an interesting sounding book by a "Dr. Hill." They
  have excerpts on line.

   http://www.escape.ca/~revive/ and
   http://www.xpressnet.com/bhealthy
These folks sell a mild silver protien product that is quite
carefully made. A lot of good silver info on their site.

   http://www.wishgranted.com/
The online version of a booklet about CS. The author indulges in
a couple of radically speculative scientific theories, but the
  information on CS is helpful.

CONCLUSION:

When you browse these sites you will inevitably find conflicting
information about different products or methods. Especially, many
vendors will claim their products are "unique" or "superior" or the
"only safe and effective CS." Take such claims with a grain of salt!

There are also many other sites and resources. In no way do I wish to
imply by the inclusion or exclusion of any site that this is the best
there is. Nor do I endorse everything, or necessarily anything, you
will find at these sites.

I hope that exploring these sites will give you an idea of what CS is,
how it is made and used, and some of the issues that are being debated
among different vendors and experimentors.

If you have more questions or need help getting started, feel free to
ask for help on the silver-list.

Gary, you wil find a photo illustrated project page at:

http://web.idirect.com/~showcase/althealth/cspulse.htm

Th page starts with an illustration of the classic 3 nine volt battery
setup, then goes on from there to show how to put together a pulsed DC
CS generator in a no-soldering approach, using an 'Experimenter's
Socket' and other components available from either Radio Shack, or the
mail order electronics supply houses.

The circuit diagram is also there. Another bonus; the same circuit can
be used as a classic Hulda Clark Zapper; see the page for details.

Silver wire, .999 fine or better , is available from wholesale jewelry
makers' supply houses; another alternative used by some is the pure
silver coins or 1 ounce bullion bars.

You should find enough info on that page & elswhere on that same website
to get a good start making your own CS generator. (I'll be away from the
email for the weekend; back Sunday PM -if you have further questions,
I'll try to help.)

Comments & questions always welcome!

Be Well!

Re: CS>PPM

1998-10-02 Thread M. G. Devour
Jon wrote:

> Hi everyone,
> As you can tell I'm still very new. How do you measure PPM?
> Thanks

Hi Jon,

You'll get a variety of answers to this question, but let me try to
summarize. This is an important subject. This may be the start of
another FAQ file...

* Testing Labs:

The only reliable way we have yet to measure ppm is to have it
tested for us by an environmental laboratory, which usually costs
about 15-20 dollars (US) per sample. To be really sure, you'd have to
test several samples, so it can get a bit pricey. If you change
anything, you'd have to test again... and so on.

You can usually find such labs in your local phone book under
"environmental testing" or similar categories. Just tell them you
want to test samples of clean water for silver content. Some can also
be found on the net.

* Hand held "PPM" meters:

There are a number of small meters from Hanna Instruments that have
been recommended to us. The problem is we don't have enough data to
relate the "ppm" readings of any of the Hanna devices to *actual*
concentration of silver in our preparations. In other words we have
to develop "calibration curves" for them.

The units are relatively cheap, easy to use, and quite reliable. They
are definitely useful for making sure that you are getting consistent
results from one batch to the next, but more work has to be done
before we can honestly say we're measuring "ppm" with them.

* Current monitoring:

Hanna's devices work by measuring resistivity (the ability to resist
the flow of current). If you are making your own CS, it just so
happens you have a built in method for doing the same thing.

If you keep your electrode spacing, wetted length, and wire size the
same from batch to batch, you've got a perfectly serviceable
resistivity probe. Just put a meter in line with the power supply
(batteries or whatever) and measure the current while making CS.

If you are consistent in your procedures, and stop at the same
current reading each time, you'll have the same concentration in each
new batch, or very close. It would be possible to calibrate this the
same way as one of the Hanna units.

There are subtleties that effect the current, which is why I say you
have to be consistent. The silver particles tend to form a "cloud"
around the electrodes that passes more current than the bulk
solution. If you periodically remove the electrodes, wipe them off,
and stir your CS, then you will get an accurate current reading.

* What is PPM?

Finally, there is the question of exactly what it is we are trying to
measure.

The term "ppm" (parts-per-million) means the same, in our case, as
milligrams per liter. So in a liter (about a quart) of 20ppm CS you'd
have 20 milligrams of silver suspended in the liquid.

But there is a *big* difference between a mass of silver in some
water and effective CS. If you put a 20 milligram sliver of silver
metal in a liter jar of water you'd still have 20 ppm, but you would
*not* have a colloidal suspension!

Some portion of the silver in a batch of home-made CS may be
particles that are larger than the range of .01 to .001 microns that
are said to be the most effective. Another portion might be smaller
than that, and maybe even individual atoms of silver that could be
considered to be truly *dissolved* in the water.

Is it total concentration, the particle size, the charge on the
particles, or some complex combination of these and other factors
that is most important? We don't know the answer to that yet. It
seems likely that a low ppm preparation of very fine particles might
be just as effective as a higher ppm CS that has some larger average
particle size.

* Conclusion:

What we *do* know is that certain silver preparation methods have
yielded good and sometimes stunning results. Just having a ballpark
notion of the ppm of your CS, either by measurement or by following
somebody else's recipe closely, may in fact be good enough.

If you use any of the above methods to relate your results to others,
and to get consistency from one batch to the next, you'll be able to
reliably adjust dosage in response to symptoms, which is really the
bottom line.

Comments and opinions, anyone?

Be well,

Mike Devour

Give me a break, any moron even a doctor has enough common since
to see that if a person had cancer and don't now because of the drug
then it works.

This looks like another propaganda campain to try and shut down
Burzynski. The jerks couldn't do it by taking him to court so they're
trying now to say that it doesn't work. Taking him to court acually
backfired on them because people now know what he is doing. Good try
to the authors, FDA, and drug companys but I wasn't born yesturday
and I've seen these tricks before.

Want to know what their next move is? They'll be taking him to
court again for some trumped up charge...
