Re: CScs color
Not having tried stirring on an [current] un-controlled generator, I don't know. With a current controlled generator it's nearly impossible to stir too slow. Stirring fast does not affect the CS but can promote the growth of the dreaded 'grey fuzzies' on one of the electrodes. The grey fuzzies: Hydrogen bubbles are formed under a pressure wave and fail to grow large enough to bubble off. Low current draw from very pure water can help the small bubbles stay small too. Silver particles get trapped on the increased surface tension of the bubble/water interface and form a semi solid shell around the bubble, thus, preventing it from ever growing up. A new bubble forms on top of that bubble and the process starts again. The shell structure is not a really good conductor and can fool the auto off circuitry into thinking the CS is not done when it is and the generator can fail to shut off. Result: Grey fuzzy semi solid formation on one electrode that can break off in chunks and fall to the bottom and possibly very long 'run time'. No harm to the CS but you might want to filter or decant. If the formation is left alone with power removed, the hydrogen bubbles slowly disburse and release a white mist that's identical to the so called 'ion cloud'. You'll get a very strong TE. [The white cloud you may sometimes see if the water is not stirred is not ions, it's particles forming from ions] That happens whether the water is stirred or not to some degree, it's just that if the water is stirred, you'll never see it. Stirring moves ions away from the boundary layer where particle formation occurs rapidly and isolates them in small clusters between water molecules [hydration...ions orient themselves with the atomic componants of the water molecules that surround them] where they can form particles from small ion clusters rather than large clusters. So, the ion production rate can be increased via a higher current and still produce small particles. But faster stirring doesn't necessarily increase the hydration rate high enough to overcome a very fast ion production rate as in a non current controlled environment in 'runaway'...I 'think', because it takes some time for particles to form and release that polarized space, making it available to new ion clusters. Stirring is beneficial to all generators though. At 06:28 PM 5/15/02 +, you wrote: Ken, can you explain how the stir rate affects the cs? Walgreens doesn't even register. It takes a very long time to build up to 1 or 2 PPM where the generator will start to pull its set controlled current. The 26.8 PPM figure came from Ole Bob himself via his photospectrometer. At the time he said it was total silver, then changed his tune to say his equipment only measures Ionic silver. Maybe it measurs all of the ionic and some of the particulate? I dunno. NCDNR Water Lab in Raleigh says 45.5 PPM total silver content. [Ionic and colloidal particulate] I don't know what method they used to test it but they wanted huge samples. [I have the report] The generator is set to turn off at 15-17 PPM ionic as read by a Hanna PPM meter..which does NOT read particulate. Total silver will vary according to 'in process' agglomeration of ions into particles as the generator circuitry works like the meter and won't detect particulate silver either. Both water temperature and stir rates influence 'in process' particle formation. Probably, temperature differentials influence 'post process' particle formation. BTW, Jack The gen you sent back is working perfectly. I made a 16 oz batch in 3 hours with cool FL water yesterday. Light TE remains unchanged this morning...shut down at 16PPM ionic and has remained colorless and stable so far. I only had to wipe the rods once. [old used pitted electrodes] I sent you a new transformer for your replacement gen. It checked out at 27vac at no load. I think that'll do her up right. It was very SLOW, and very GRADUAL, but it was definately worth the wait.He is 76 years old, and says he's feeling better than 15 years ago. When he started on the CS he could not even put his wallet in his pocket without pain, and he could not sit on one side without comfort, also, he slept on one of those foam mattresses, but still could not sleep on one side. Now he can do all of it. - Original Message - From: Maxine Wilton To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Friday, May 14, 2094 11:46 PM Subject: Re: CSGary Green/ Chicken Pox Virus Mariano, How long and how much did your neighbor take of C S?? My neighbor had shingles, and the CS orally is what killed the virus, but I think you should be agressive. How about working up to 8 - 16 oz throughout the day? - Original Message - From: Maxine Wilton To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Tuesday, May 14, 2002 12:57 PM Subject: CSGary Green/ Chicken Pox Virus Hello Gary, Are you a Dr of what kind of medicine??
