CS>my 1st. batch
Hello Everyone, I made my first batch of cs Saturday. When I stopped the process the cs was clear. Now when I opened the kitchen cuboard this morning, I saw the cs was a dark yellow or amber. Is this acceptable? I am going to filter it after 36 hours but, the color has suprised me. I've been using distilled water purchased at WalMart and it failed the water purity test but, I proceeded making it. It never reached the shutoff point but, I shut it off after 25 hours. I didn't have any cs available as a starter, btw. You are likly looking at clear CS and seeing the bluish tinge from the Tyndall. Look at it with the light coming from behind you and see if it is still blue. They call it staining, but it is the same thing. There is one company that uses ozonation and copper that claims good results and no staining. I had one person off list that lives in Vegas (or was it Phoenix), that said they used that but it was insufficient to keep up with the organics that blew into their pool. Re: CS>taste of cs
It will usually have a metallic taste. If you let it sit a day you will likely find that the ionic part drops and the colloidal part increases with time. This should result in a lessening of the metalic taste. Marshall sylvie hargraft wrote: > Hi everyone, could you tell me what the taste of your cs is like?? Mine does > have a metal taste to it. RE: CS>my 1st. batch
Hello Roger, I am using a Colloid Master 777 to make my cs. It has been turning out a pale to medium yellow at about 12-15 ppm according to my Hanna tester. I poured some in my wife's drinking water - plastic bottle just opened (Costco brand), and it turned pink, measuring about 20 ppm ??? I poured it out, yellow okay, pink, no. Probably your batch didn't reach the shutoff point was because the electrodes needed to be scrubbed. Mine does the same thing unless I do one scrub during the process. Yes, sometimes it has a metallic taste. Dilute it if it bothers you. Or slip it in some juice. Try cutting the brew time. I think you'll find it's a strength thing. Re: CS>taste of cs
Hi Jan A good rule to try and follow, would be to have the batch jar scrupulously clean. If you have a bottle brush or sponge on a handle or something like it, very carefully work on the interior of the jar - it needs to be free of every thing inside. Then rinse with distilled water -- put some in the jar, put the lid on and shake it baby shake it. This should protect the batch from contamination. Get an aquarium bubbler (I used a cheapie from Walmart) and a length of the kind of plastic tubing used with water filter systems (don't use the squishy clear tubing). Hook the tubing up to the bubbler and stick the other end into the bottom of the jar, using something to keep the tube from popping out of the jar. If the bubbling action is too vigorous for a quart jar, then use a clamp to restrict air flow or maybe drill holes into the tubing to bleed off air. Here is a picture of my set-up when I was using a 1/2 gallon Rubbermaid jar: http://207.177.74.117/cs-gen.jpg I'm now making it by the gallon in one of those glass sun-tea jars with the spigot, but I'm using the same plastic lid as in the photo (it fits over the glass jar; the lid is a little too large, but it's snug enough to not come off while the batch is running.) The electrodes are jammed into slits I made with a pocket knife; there's just enough silver protruding from the top to attach the clips. The spacing is the same as with the quart jar. -- John A. mix it with Gatorade. This will help the taste plus the electolites will get the CS into your blood quicker. - Original Message - From: "sylvie hargraft" To: Sent: Monday, May 20, 2002 7:19 AM Subject: CS>taste of cs > > Hi everyone, could you tell me what the taste of your cs is like?? Don't throw it away.l Use it topically and on your plants. Use it to keep cut flowers longer, also the water doesn't smell when the cut flowers die. - Original Message - From: "John Reeder" To: Sent: Monday, May 20, 2002 9:57 AM Subject: RE: CS>my 1st. batch > Hello Roger, > > I am using a Colloid Master 777 to make my cs. Re: CS>taste of cs
No I didn't use salt. In another batch I did, until I read that it's not necessary and could make cloride. So is it OK to use? The water is some store bought distilled. Maybe its the water or some old residue on the silver. I only used a couple of drops from a 4 oz. water to 1/2 tsp salt solution, on the previous batch, or was it 2 batches ago?. Thanks, Jan Marshalee Hallett wrote: > > I'm new at this, but my last batch tasted pretty weird and I wondered if > it was > > dishwashing soap maybe from the jar? Re: CS>CC & CS for swimming pools
Normally the amount of chlorine is on the order of 1 ppm. One ppm of chlorine will react with about 3 ppm of silver (by weight). A pool containing 20,000 gallons of water with 1 ppm of chlorine would have sufficient chlorine to react with half a pound of silver making about 2/3 pound of silver chloride. I would hardly call that insignificant. Marshall MARIANO DELISE wrote: > It needs a very SMALL amount of chlorine to burn off all the dead critters > killed by the silver. Once again, thank you John. The picture helps a lot. John -Original Message- From: John A. -- John A. Hi John I had the same improvement but for a completely different reason. I haven't used salt since for months, but I do heat the DW first. My crud problem went away when I switched from a metal cooking pan to a pyrex one. =Al Renton > > -- > John A. CS>The Law
I am seeing a pattern on this list ...everyone for some strange reason seems to believe that the God of the old testament isn't the same as the God of the new testament. I can assure you that Jesus in no way wanted to do away with the law. That is why he made appearances throughout the old testament to different people. That is why Genesis 1:1 is speaking of him. That is the beauty of the bible. I do understand that many words in the bible are very confusing to the unsaved person.but don't be fooled into thinking that the old testament law has been done away with. The only one who believes that is Man.not God. Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. I hope that no one here is under the impression that Jesus made his first appearance when he was born as a man 2000 years ago Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Rev 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Jesus made many many appearances in the old testamentthe law still applies.don't count on your childhood baptism to save you.don't count on how wonderful your mother is...don't believe that you will come back again as someone else...{reincarnation}..that is simply not going to happen. Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: and don't believe that because you have given to charities..or that you are a nice person.because that won't save you either Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them I hope this helps someone..Robb -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
