kelp

How about if someone is allergic to seafood such as
lobster, shrimp
etc, any thoughts on that?

Jacques

Well, yes, I was told as a child not to eat any
seafood, but I could eat seaweed, that was ok, it was
the only seafood I could eat.

It seems that crustaceans and shellfish actually have
histamine in them and can cause severe allergic
symptoms in many people.

Some people that are sensitive to molds or candida
find that they do better when they stay away from
algaes such as kelp as well.

Re: CS>nebulizing CS/dmso question

2007-02-17 Thread Del
Here in northern Vermont, the temperature has been in single digits for the
last few weeks and below zero most nights. As a result, the air is so dry
that we were beginning to have respiratory problems. We can tolerate it
during the day by keeping ourselves hydrated, but at night we got all dried
out, so I looked into getting a humidifier for our bedroom.

My biggest concern was that our water here is loaded with chloramine. I
don't know much about this stuff, but the little I know suggests that it is
not something you want to breathe by putting it into an ultrasonic
humidifier. So I purchased a humidifier that evaporates the water by
boiling it. I decided that the chloramine would be left behind (true?) and
that the boiling would probably kill off any dangerous organisms.

The only problem I can see with this type of humidifier is that you have to
clean it frequently because of all the minerals left after evaporation of
the water. But it is my understanding that the ultrasonic humidifiers
deposit those minerals as "white dust" on the walls and furniture, so I
think I prefer to clean it from the device.

The other consideration was the noise level. Ultrasonic humidifiers claim
to be noiseless, but this is not true. My daughter has one and it makes a
kind of high pitched warble or whistle that is very annoying. I know that
all the evaporative humidifiers have fans, and neither my wife or I can
stand fan noise, much less sleep with it. The vaporizer type that we
settled on has no fan and only makes little "boiling" noises that are pretty
easy to tolerate.

There is one other modality where water is wicked up into a membrane and
air is blown across it to evaporate that water.

The "Swamp cooler" or evaporative air conditioner works that way.

You don't have to "boil" water to evaporate it.
If your cool mist humidifier doesn't physically direct water into a
motorized impeller to be "thrown" out the discharge, it's probably a
swamper and that is the most common type sold today with concerns over
water contaminants being inhaled by people with allergies. [or water born
bacterium and fungi]

I haven't seen a wet impeller type for decades.

Some of the ultrasonics use a biocide ion exchange resin in the water
filter..sometimes silver. [Look for the "AgION" logo ]

You may not want to run an ultrasonic without that filter unless you put
some CS in the water...or use sterile water.
If you do put CS in there, it's a good idea to remove or gut the filter
as the resins may capture the CS.

ode

The cool mist vaporizers act either by ultrasonic or mechanical means
to break the water up into tiny droplets -- which will still contain
whatever is dissolved or suspended in the water! The water is turned
directly into tiny droplets, rather than being turned to steam first
and then condensed.

I hope that explains it. Good question!

Be well,

CS>two amounts with one adaptor

2007-02-17 Thread Faith Saint Francis

Hello C S Circle!

Greeting you all from Great Medellín, where we are starting off just fine.

I have a C S question here:

I am a bit tired of buying three 9 volts batteries repeatedly, and we are
changing to a 30 volts adaptor (400 milli amps).

With our growing clientele, and the need of a stock of C S, the question is:

Can we make two amounts of C S with the glasses put in series - with one 30
volts adaptor? We have all the requirements for making more C S, and for the
time-factor we would like to create C S this way.

Any suggestions are warmly welcomed.

Good Morning Faith and Luz,

>> At 08:13 AM 2/17/2007, you wrote:

You could build one of my Telephone Line Generator, ( works at 50, 52,
of 54 VDC ) and never have to buy a battery again.Plus, you have a
higher voltage that speeds up the process.

>> Can we make two amounts of C S with the glasses put in series - with
one 30 volts adaptor? We >>have all the requirements for making more C S,
and for the time-factor we would like to create C S this way.

You are building a TWO LOAD, series circuit.

The current at all points in a Series Circuit is the same.

Any applied voltage will be divided between these loads.

If they are equal, the voltage drop ( and Wattage, power, work ) will be
the equal.

It will be hard to keep them both exactly equal, so one process will get
more power and work faster.

If you are precision enough in all details, they might be equal. If I did
it, I would use a voltmeter across each to observe the difference that
develops as the process progresses.

It is not a bad idea.

Consider this... You could run them in Parallel instead of
Series. In the parallel manner, the applied voltage will be equal, and the
results, time, conductivity, ect would be more uniform.

If the voltage source has enough power, you could run 3, 5, 19, or 100
batches at the same time.
I think Terry does it this way and can make a number of gallons at the same
time.

If you don't know and understand the above, you need to study a bit before
starting the project.

I am sure the other Techno Freaks on the list will have slightly different
ideas. They should be similar to what I have told you, because everything
I said is "Etched in Stone".

Keep us posted.

The best thing about current and voltage is that there are a set of rules
that always hold true.
The simplest form of this is called "Ohms Law".You can search for this
and find many explanations.

I don't think histamine is actually in the seafood. Histamine is
produced in the body/skin when a person is reacting to an allergen.

I've always been told there are two main types of "seafood" allergy, one
is protein allergy, as in a person is actually allergic to the shrimp
protein, or lobster protein or similar, and the second is iodine
allergy. In the case of iodine allergy, one would be allergic to nearly
all ocean produce whether animal, fish, or sea plants, sea salt, etc.
People with iodine allergy may be able to eat oysters, as for some
reason they have far less iodine than crustaceans and ocean fish and
seaweeds. In fact oysters have less iodine than asparagus, by miles.

Hey there Willie!

I think we persuaded Faith when he first got here to upgrade his water
quality and to keep the concentration down to a few parts-per-million.
Both of those steps will reduce the argyria risk more than any other
factors.

Faith,
Hook your cells up in parallel an you could use as many as you have
room for (at least 50)

Simply consider your adaptor to be the common power source just as
your wall outlet is the common power source for your table lamps.

First of all: Thanks for the different suggestions we received, we'll read
them all carefully.

Mike! Hi There, good to have re-established that contact again, man!

In Curacao we first used Spa water, which gave a greyish EIS, in half an
hour. It tasted metallic, but we (and our clients) always had good results
-and we NEVER had any complaints like argyria or the like-.
Then we went for "le Bleu", a new clear water product on the market there.
"le Bleu" is water of a far better quality, but the taste of the EIS was so
weak that I started brewing for twice half an hour. The results were equal:
Very good.

Now in Colombia, we are back on "Manantial, Agua 100% natural" (as logic
leads it = 'Manantial, a 100 % natural'). This gives us the best results
locally, with no discolorisation, and it has the metallic taste we like
about our brew.

We have been without CS for a few weeks now, which gives me the creeps,
really (huh .. still am on me own urine every morning, though).
Monday I shall buy that adaptor, and get going, either with one batch, or
'as many as 50', as Chuck suggesed.

Thank you my Friends,

It is a pleasure to be here again.
