Re: CSBottles for cs storage
Cyndi, I reuse plastic PET bottles. Or PETE. These are plastic bottles that have a number one inside a triangle (somewhere on the bottle). I usually tell family and friends to bring me their empty plastic bottles, and sometimes they will be PET. For example, orange or apple juice is usually stored in PET bottles. Almost everything in Japan uses PET, so it is easy for me there. But I notice that PET is a bit more difficult to find in NY. I use clear bottles and have no problems with my CS produced by the Silverpuppy. I do not recommend using any other type of plastic bottles, but I am not an expert. From my research I found that PET is the closest to glass, as far as electrostatic and chemical concerns go. you can buy it in the HF stores or from a good reputable supplier of esssnetial oils. Be sure it is the thymus mastachina though. Sure you can grow it if you want to wouldn't try eating it. Otto Richters in Goodwood Ontario would probably have the seeds or just do an online search. I have it in a little roll on bottle I carry with me if Im doing any strenuous work. Saves me alot of back pain in the spring. Tara On 6/13/14, mborg...@att.net mborg...@att.net wrote: Thanks for replying really wild marjoram, how does one make it and do you spray it on or sip it??? You don't even need DMSO to accelerate the uptake. Botanical name is thymus mastachina works way faster. I would inquire of the supplier where in Japan it came from. If the production site is way the heck west and south of Tokyo, I'd be tempted to believe it would be safe, but radioactive contamination has been spread far further in Japan than officials have been willing to admit. The numerous youtube videos of folks with geiger counters finding hotspots on city streets, playgrounds, backyards and roofs attest to this. If we depend upon the prevailing winds and currents to be from west to east and south to north in general, then it may be reasonable to trust stuff from the Chūgoku, Shikoku and Kyūshū regions. If I understand correctly, nigari is derived from sea water and the production process includes sun-drying in the open air. If the water is from the east coast anywhere from Tokyo and north, I'd definitely worry. And all it would take to contaminate areas to the southwest would be an east or northeast wind to blow for a day or two, just about anywhere in the islands. I'd ask the supplier to tell me exactly where the stuff is produced, and then judge from a map if it's far enough away. Not a happy situation at all. Be well, Mike D. CSCS: Glass bottles, magnesium bicarbonate
Have used clear glass bottles from the start of brewing. Some from about my first brew has not changed in approx. 20 years.Must be cheaper than coloured. Magnesium bicarbonate is very cheap and easy to make ; it is quick to get into the system. The CO2 is very beneficial to the cells along with the magnesium. To get the recipe for home making, go to : http://www.mgwater.com/bicarb.shtml ,then click on ; Make your own Magnesium Bicarbonate drink !! Tastes sweet.. Very easy take, and very effective. Harold -
