Just compare the mist as it comes off the electrode edge with that which comes off the rest of the electrode. Electroplaters attach bleed off wires to prevent burnt and grainy looking thick accumulations of plating on edges so they can still use enough current to reach inside the holes. Most electroplating electrodes come as flat bars. They erode into a V shape with rounded edges also becoming sorter and shorter till they have a big fat top and a pointy round bottom...points go faster than the edges. Plain wire with the end exposed will sharpen into a point but the wire gets pretty darned thin before the wire actually gets shorter. The looped wire with no ends in the water seem to go away pretty evenly retaining full length till they get too flimsy to handle. You would think that the current desity would go up as the wires get thinner, but they also get pitted and the pits increase surface area. I don't recall seeing a used up electroplate electrode bar with pits. [I was an electroplater long ago..copper, zinc and nickel..some gold.] Opposite sides of a flat bar are further apart than the sides facing. Ion discharge from opposite faces have to go around the bar on a longer path. Longer distance equals higher resistance...fewer ions. The edge effect may be much like skin effect on a conductor at high frequencies. In this case, the dimensions and shape of the conductor influence the results. It would be nice to compare the cell resistance using two 1/4 inch flat strips 0.013 inches thick and 4 inches wetted depth with 12 ga wire rods also with a 4 inch wetted depth. I have a 2D modeller I use for high frequency and thermal resistance work. It can be used for magnetic fields, and also basic electrostatics. Pure water has a dielectric constant that varies a bit with temperature, but we can use the value 80. Please see DIELECTRIC CONSTANT REFERENCE GUIDE http://www.asiinstr.com/dc1.html A value of 80 is extremely high compared to most insulators. It would be interesting to see if the modeller can tell us how the field changes when the dielectric constant changes from air to water. Thus the the soil becomes depleted in elements that we may not even know about. Fertilizers such as fishmeal and seaweed contain ALL the elements from an undepleted source. Back then much more animal manure was used, whereas today farmers use mostly chemicals. 's funny. I've recently come across info that goes 180 degrees opposite, saying that manured crops and animals raised on them are NOT good for our health. Bothered me 'cause I always thought manure was great fertilizer. Basically farmers are feeding the plants` growth, but not ours! I also recall another program where they showed a field that was fertilized on one side with chemicals, the other side with manure. When a flock of sheep were turned in to graze, they all stayed on the manured side!! Dumb animals?? Again, it's strange. I saw a similar example in Dr Jarvis' book claiming the opposite as proof that animals know that the manured feed was unhealthy. Maybe Wayne has some experience. Re: CSRe: buying cs instead of making it...
Well seeing as he is a very few yrs older than me, I would say tell him you think he has got your daughter with a baby. Nothing like a shock to get rid of hiccups. It may not cure him but I bet he will laugh. Hank My hiccup remedy, given to me by 8th. grade science teacher, that has never failed me is as follows: First, take several deep breaths to build up your oxygen level, so you can hold your breath comfortably while doing the remedy. Then , blow out to empty the lungs and *hold the breath out* . Take nine small swallows of water *before breathing in again*. I was told that a hiccup is a spasm of the diaphragm muscle, and that this remedy stabilizes it. I suspect that the spasms maybe caused by anxiety. (nothing to back that up, just my opinion). Hope this helps. Al - Original Message - From: Jan Bolen To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Saturday, August 24, 2002 7:07 PM Subject: CSRe: buying cs instead of making it... Another question, although I'm not sure this one is relevant to this list. My daughter just told me about a friend of hers -- a frail 80 year old man that has cancer and is going through chemotherapy. His biggest problem right now -- and this is no laughing matter -- is that he has severe hiccups, every five to ten seconds -- and is losing his will to live. He was to! ld! that it was a side effect to the chemotherapy. My question is: would colloidal silver, say, sprayed from a nebulizer, do anything to alleviate that problem? Re: CSWhere to buy silver foil and silver mesh
Hi! I bought my . silver wire from http://www.ccsilver.com/ They were real fast on delivery, There is a (I think) $5.00 small order charge if you buy less than $25.00 They have a lot of diferent sizes, Don't get less than .999 pure. I have been lurking on the list for awhile hoping to find a source of silver wire for CS. The web site seems a little complicated, should I purchase ONLY the .999 pure for making CS water? Hi! I was one of the big city guys Sacramento, Ca. I moved out in the hichs (I am 1/2 mile from the courthouse but could run nude in my yard and no one would see me) I guess I am now a hick, If so I love it. Oh and have you seen the thing that you can't drive your car unless you blow in it and show your not drunk? Make one for a keyboard that you can't post to forums or send emails if your drink and I will be the first to buy one from you. Glory I sent you a long e-mail to your address. I forgot to say all my batches are clear and no dark flakes. Hi, I want to make my first batch of CS this week-end.
