CS in lotions and creams

2001-10-14 Thread Joy S. Huffman
Hi folks,
I am trying something new..I made some lotion this morning
and it turned out great but I have some questions that I hope someone
can answer.
I made the lotion using my homemade CS as the water part.
It looks good...just like all of my other creams and lotions.
However ..in making lotions you need to heat the
water part up to about 150 degrees and add citric acid to this.
Can you heat CS without it going out of solution? Does citric acid
or veggie oils cause any problems and cause it to go out of solution?
Is there anyway to check to see if the particles are suspended as they
should be? Are there any chemists on this list that could check this out
for me and who could also do a challenge test on this?
What my goals are in doing this is to be able to make a cream without
preservatives that would have a good shelf life and also one that would be
healing to the skin.
Any and all comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: CS>Re: stevia

2000-12-09 Thread Joy S. Huffman
Ole Bob,
Terri is rightthere are different brands. One of the more
popular brands tastes terrible..it has grapeseed extract
in it.. that is what makes it taste so bad. This is the first kind I tried
and I threw it away. Terri told me about the kind she usesit is just
stevia ( nothing else added in) and it is greatI would not use any
other
kind of sweetner. I use it in tea and in cereal. Give it a try and I think you
will like it.

  Hi There;
I tried Stevia and to me it is not sweet. I fact it tastes terrible. So I
junked it.

I've used Stevia liq. for years and really like it. I've tried three
different kinds, two from a local health food store and one I order from
out
of state, herbal site. I prefer the ordered version as the two brands I
find
in the local health food store leave an herbal aftertaste. Stevia does
not
affect the blood sugar levels so it is great for diabetics.

Which essential oil are you using on your feet?

Hey Brickey,
I am so glad you wrote about this! I have a fingus problem
in my plum tree. The branches are thicken and it looks terrible.
I asked the agricultural extension office about this
and they said to spray with a funguscide (sp?) anyway the thought
had crossed my mind about using CS on the tree.
How should I do this? Do i need to cut off all of the affected limbs
and spray the tree or leave it as it is and spray the tree and the
surrounding
ground? What strenght would you use? How often should I spray?
TIA!

Re: CS>Newbie question - silver source

2000-10-27 Thread Joy S. Huffman
Newbie question - silver sourceTed,
My daughter gets these several times a year. The last time she broke
with them she treated them with a combo of CS and L-lysine. She drank
the CS ( a mouthfull) and swished before she swallowed.3 times
a day. She also took a L-lysine tablet 3 times a day. L-lysine is a amino
acid and is suppose to do something to the cells so that the virus is
displaced. Anyway instead of the usual 10-12 days.they cleared up
in 3-4 daysa big improvement.
Joy
PS

My second question...does anybody have any experience using CS to clear up
mouth ulcers? (a.k.a. cold sores, canker sores...) I'm always getting those
things, and they're really painful. That's the real reason I finally got off
my duff and decided to try brewing some CS, so I could hopefully cure them.
Does CS work for these things?

CS>viruses

2000-10-21 Thread Joy S. Huffman
Hi,
I have a question about viruses and the effect CS has on
them. I know that CS will kill viruses..but does this mean
it will kill them completely? For example my daughter
gets the cold sore/ mouth ulcers ( herpes) periodically.
>From what I understand this virus is in her body and
during periods of stress will pop up. The last time she
had a flair up ( 3 weeks ago) she started taking CS orally,
swishing with CS and was also taking l-lysine 3 times a day.
The herpes only lasted 3-4 days instead on the usual 10 days.
If she continues to take CS will it kill all the virus in her
body so that she will not have these periodic flair ups?
Thanks,
Joy
