Re: CSBone Spur . . . Rude Post by Dave Darrin

2009-10-11 Thread Tony Moody
Hi Fuzzmom,

Your keyboard is probably a Braille keyboard of some sort? So it is not
easily replaced?

* For sticky keys You could have a go at vacuuming the fur, crumbs, crud
and dustbunnies which collect under the buttons.

* Then spray lightly with some sort of lubricant/cleaner/release
agent/water displacer. We have Q20 here which seems to be ideal for this
purpose.
* Then vacuum again, and spray again, tilting and turning the keyboard
sideways and upside down, to try to get the lubricant up, inside to
where the plastic bits are binding.

Keyboards are quite robust. Mine I bought in 1999 and it is used quite a
lot. Amazing really. Some keyboard problems are repairable and some are
just not get-at-able. Keyboard can possibly be repaired or a new one
modified by replacing the buttons, but you would probably need to find an
enthusiast.

Yikes. $65 for a braile keyboard or $19 for a set of stickers that sounds
steep. How about peeling the existing stickers off and sticking then
onto a new keyboard? $10 or less.

Good Luck,

OK,
Tony

That's why you should try and have a little forethought. After all,
no-one *deliberately* spells stuff wrong do they? It's obvious
something is causing it whatever it is and anyway, if someone *is*
deliberately doing it, then that is surely up to them? It's

This sounds like a classic case of Plantar Fasciitis. Either
the heel or the arch of the foot gets very painful and
inflammed, and usually after it has been resting, such as when
you are sleeping. Tends to be much worse in the morning and you
can get a bit of relief by using the foot, but resting it tends
to make it worse.

I had a bad case of it for about two months. I got arch
supports for my shoes to stretch the arch because that is where
my pain was. I took 1 gram of magnesium nightly and that helped
a bit. What I believed turned the corner for me was taking a
high dose of omega fish oils, 3 times a day along with a mineral
supplement, but I still took the mag at night.

I also had foot and lower leg cramping too. The magnesium
really helped that, so I still take 500 mgs nightly now. I
didn't soak my feet in epsom salts, but that might have been
helpful.

I know it can attack the heel and achilles tendon area of the
foot. You might want to Google Plantar Fasciitis to see if you
can find your symptoms and some remedies for it.

CSBone Spur . . . Rude Post by Dave Darrin

2009-10-10 Thread Annie B Smythe
Ya know, I've been busy busy busy. I read the emails to keep up with
what is going on but I don't have a lot of time to reply right now.

But to this blatant rudeness I will make time to reply.

Microsoft magnifier sucks, big time. And anyone with any serious visual
impairment probably wouldn't be using it anyway.

And stuck keys are stuck keys. Not everyone can afford a new keyboard
when the one they have gets wonky. Speech to text programs even make
mistakes if you can afford to buy one.

That reply, if you truly meant it that way, shows a remarkable lack of
compassion and regular old every day common human decency and respect
for others. You need to get your head out of your A**. Hopefully you'll
mouth off to someone in real life like that and they'll clean your clock
but good! There's no excuse whatsoever for your attitude. Spelling
errors are NOT the end of world! There is absolutely no excuse for
making anyone feel bad, no matter what.

My brother is dyslexic and his spelling is terrible. But I can decipher
exactly what he means. If you're too inept to read a post and figure out
what it means, then leave it alone. You have no way of knowing what
other people's limitations are. But you plow on inconsiderately,
regardless, and in doing so you hurt others with your rudeness. Someone
needs to take you out behind the barn and teach you some manners.

Sorry Marshall, that kind of disregard for others makes me so angry I
can't see straight. But someone deliberately baiting a person with a
disability makes me crazy.

A difference of opinion is one thing, but that was just awful.

Annie

Don't let your keyboard hold you back.  I'm pretty reasonably happy with
the $13 Logitech keyboard from Walmart.

You do need to be able to hook it up to usb, though.  But since I

Personally I am on a lot of lists, and I find it difficult
remembering every
intro post I have ever read. If someone repeatedly reminds
me that they
are dealing with a disability then I eventually do remember,
but one mention
in thousands of messages is just not going to stand out for
me. That is

assuming he even saw your intro.

I think Dave made a reasonable request, he asked politely,
he said please,
he was clear and he provided evidence of what was bothering
him, which
to me is helpful. He did not use demeaning language, he
simply pointed
out the number and nature of the typos. They were excessive
and I had

a hard time reading that message as well.

How else could he have stated his request? Are people
suppose to turn
themselves inside out trying not to offend someone for fear
that they are

of XYZ belief or physical condition or impairment?

We could all take offense at something, but we generally
don't in the interest
of group harmony. The person that went off at Dave as if he
was targeting
someone with a disability intentionally is more remiss IMHO
than Dave was

in requesting reviewing for typos.

Get over it, it was an insensitive remark with no regard for the other person,
simple as that, we all make mistakes.

It's been dealt with, and dealt with in a harmless and jocular manner so leave

it in the interest of making some point, I'm sure everyones got the point by
