There is another BIG difference. I think I read some time back that the surface area of the lungs is something like that of a football field. The back of the throat is maybe 10 square inches. Also the back of the throat is continually washed with every swallow. Now if you have a substance that is released into the blood stream as a toxic substance in the lungs when broken down by H2O2, a heck of a lot of it can be released from that much surface area, but almost none from a washed 10 square inches. Mind you that the body makes and uses H2O2 in the lungs to clear them of organic material. But the body is intelligent and only uses minute amounts of it, so no more is released into the blood stream at one time than it can deal with. That is especially true of things like tobacco tar. A bit of foam in the back of the throat won't kill you like a bit of foam deep down in the lungs. The difference is penetration..depth. Before finding CS I had a real problem with my gums and having my teeth cleaned often ended up in a full blown gum infection. One of my hygienists gave me a product called peroxyl which I later found out was basically peroxide with peppermint oil so I started using peroxide instead. Although it cut down on the post-cleaning infections it always hurt my gums. I recently found out that full-strength will burn mucus membranes and should be cut 50/50 with water (now I would use CS if needed). I mention this because I would imagine straight peroxide would do the same thing to the lung tissue... unless that is what you are using to clean out the 'gunk' that might be collecting in them. I would love some comments so I can better understand what is going on. Having just read Mr. Eaton's post I am thinking that where you live could also affect the outcome. I would imagine living in a highly industrialized area could create toxic lungs whether or not a person smoked. So one might want to consider this also. Huh. I've used full strength 3% h2o2 as a mouth rinse and never noticed any burn. Almost 40 years ago my brother's dentist told him the best thing in the world was to brush with baking soda and salt, and rinse with h2o2. A few years ago I was at a health expo and there was a dental company there doing those teeth whitening demos at a huge discount, so I tried it. Where they put a special paste in a custom fitted dental tray, turn lights on, and then in x amount of time you rinse and--you have whiter teeth. It really did work. I was impressed. Anyway, she told me the best way to make teeth white, or keep them white, was to rinse daily with 3% h2o2. Never mentioned burn at all, nor even said to be careful. Of course, each person is different, and perhaps you are just more sensitive than others.
