Re: CSNebulization - beginning slowly

2015-01-17 Thread Lena Guyot
When I first set up my nebulizer, I took a big gulp from the mouthpiece and
coughed quite uncomfortably. I figured the mask would do the same, so I held
the mask a little bit out from my face, breathing in shallowly with my mouth
first, getting used to it. You can see the vapor and sort of draw it in, like
smoke.
Best to be gentle and listen to the body. I was able to take deeper and deeper
breaths soon, inhaling with either mouth or nose.

Be well,
Léna

I begin with just a few breaths inhaling the cloud – not even my mouth
around the mouthpiece. I stop when it becomes uncomfortable, then do the
 same thing 10 minutes later.
The discomfort may start a “productive” cough My experience is that my lungs
are clear by the end of a few sessions an hour apart. I don’t usually wait
until I am obviously sick – and probably nebulize 2 to 3 x per year max.

 Hi PT,
I do it for less than 5 min. Sometimes it makes me cough, which can either
be good or bad, depending on whether it's dislodging debris or just
triggering the lung's natural defenses against 'foreign' material. Again,
with me, I listen to my instincts, and what my body tells me. Less is
usually more. I also do things more frequently if that's comfortable, rather
than too much by the clock. I learned this from my Lyme desease: to slowly
ramp up on anything to tolerance, and be willing to go with the flow, as
we're different from hour to hour.

Any cough or congestion, I use straight CS in my nebulizer to nip it in the

needed, listening to what my body tells me.

At the moment, the hot, dry house has made my poor little dog's nose

cold was not comfortable so when I felt like I didn't need it anymore I stopped.

Also, in what ways do you find they perform differently?

I use 5-10% DMSO diluted with EIS for nebulizing. I
have never put MSM in there but I know it is suppose
to be good for emphysema and to improve elasticity.

When I have severe lung symptoms I nebulize for
ten minutes once an hour gradually increasing the
interval as the symptoms improve.

Hi Folks,

May I ask what ratios/methodology you guys and gals use for your
nebulization if CS, DMSO and MSM are combined?

Also, in what ways do you find they perform differently?

many thanks,

Peter

I realize many people feel it's unnecessary to add both MSM and DMSO to
the nebulizing mixture, but in the past I felt I had better success
using

both than just DMSO alone. FWIW.
I always use both in nebulizing. They do different things so both are
valuable.
