Linda and list,

It is common these days to get warnings from your ISP that you have
received mail they have blocked due to virus infection.

These viruses, trojans and worms are designed to spread themselves
using stealth techniques that include *FORGING* the appearance of a
legitimate message by grabbing addresses, subject lines, and sometimes
parts of the text from a random message on the hard drive of the
infected machine.

That's one reason Linda could have gotten that message from her ISP. If
any of our several hundred subscribers is infected, their machine could
have faked a digest message and tried to send it to her and anybody
else whose address can be found on the machine's hard drive.

I just manually scanned the digest that ev1.net claimed contained a
virus and it is *clean.* There are no suspicious attachments, scripts,
or anything else I can detect, except the usual lazy HTML encoded mail
people insist on sending instead of plain text.

If ev1.net is consistently rejecting the *REAL* silver-digest, then the
best way to solve the problem is either to get their tech support
people to tweak the filters to let it through, or to sign up for the
individual e-mail version of the list.

Linda, I can see you're using a version of Eudora. I *know* that Eudora
has a filtering feature that would let you sort your incoming silver-
list mail to its own folder. Learning how to use it would simplify all
your mailing list related activities.

There's nothing to be gained by not getting the list as e-mail, as the
*LIST* HAS NOT SENT ANY INFECTED MESSAGES as far as I can tell from
here, and isn't likely to.

I've got filters set up to block mail containing most suspicious
attachments from being relayed, plus most of the viruses are too big to
pass the list message size limit. So I see them here as list owner, but
you don't.

Still, we do have a web archive which can be viewed at:

   http://escribe.com/health/thesilverlist/index.html

Be well,

Mike Devour

CS>OT (Seasilver): URGENT-Further Notice re: FTC and FDA Legal Actions

2003-06-30 Thread George
To: Seasilver Independent Business Associates and Customers
Re: URGENT-Further Notice re: FTC and FDA Legal Actions

As you should already be aware, in separate actions, both the Federal Trade
Commission ("FTC") and the Food
& Drug Administration ("FDA") have initiated legal action against Seasilver.
The FTC Complaint claims that
Seasilver and its distributors have made improper and unsubstantiated health
claims in advertising and
promotion of the product. The FDA claims that the product is not properly
labeled as to the ingredients of the
product and its health benefits.

In order to deal with both these matters, the Company has curtailed most
operations and is not presently
marketing, selling or shipping product. The Company and its counsel are working
with both agencies to comply
with the court’s orders and to secure a resolution of the government’s
concerns. The Company hopes to
resume operations in the near future. FTC Action
On June 13, 2003, the FTC filed a Complaint in the United States District Court
in Nevada against Seasilver USA,
Inc. and Americaloe, and certain of their corporate officers. The suit claims
that Seasilver has made false claims
about the benefits of its products in marketing materials and on product
labels. The FTC also applied for and was
granted a Temporary Restraining Order ("TRO"), which prohibits Seasilver from
selling or distributing its product
without significant changes to the labeling and marketing materials.

As part of the TRO, the court has appointed Thomas W. McNamara as Temporary
Receiver for both companies.
The Temporary Receiver is a neutral party who is now in charge of day to day
operations. The TRO is specifically
directed at Seasilver and its employees and distributors and others in active
participation with the Company. It
prohibits the Company and its distributors from making unsubstantiated health
claims about the products.

FDA Action
On Wednesday June 18, 2003, representatives of the Food and Drug Administration
("FDA") and the U.S.
Marshal’s office completed a court-ordered seizure of the Seasilver product
located at the Carlsbad facility. A
similar seizure was made in Ohio on June 26. These seizures are based on the
FDA’s claim that the product is
mis-branded. No claims are made by the FDA as to the product itself, just as to
the labeling. The Company may
not and will not sell or ship any of its current products until it resolves
these labeling issues with the FDA.

Customers - Do Not Discontinue Or Reduce Any Prescription Medications Without
First Consulting
Your Physician.
Previously Seasilver and certain of its distributors have made unsubstantiated
claims regarding the health
benefits of Seasilver. You may have seen claims that the product cures cancer,
diabetes, and host of other
diseases and other serious conditions, and that it results in significant and
permanent weight loss without dieting.
No clinical studies support such claims. In fact, medical experts state that
such claims are highly implausible and
likely false. If you are under a physicians care it is very important that you
not discontinue or reduce any
prescription medication without consulting you physician.

Distributors - You Must Cease and Desist from Making any Health Claims on the
Product
Effective immediately, you must cease and desist from making any false or
misleading statements or
representations in connection with the marketing, distribution or sale of any
Seasilver product, specially including
but not limited to representations that Seasilver cures or treats cancer,
enables 9 of 10 diabetes patients to stop
insulin, leads to weight loss without dieting, treats or cures typhoid or
anthrax, is proven to be non-toxin, and/or
provides any other health benefits without competent and reliable scientific
evidence.

Distributors - You Must Cease any Use of the Current Seasilver Product Brochures
In order to comply with the TRO, we are also today recalling all packaging and
labeling including all descriptive
materials and brochures, which contain any representations as to the health
benefits of Seasilver. This specially
includes the current Seasilver brochure entitled Seasilver USA/The Leader in
Foundational Health. If you have
copies of that brochure, please do not use them for any purpose, and
immediately return them to the Company. If
you have any copies of a booklet entitled "Journey into the World of
Foundational Health", you must return them
immediately.

Distributors - You Must Terminate Any Other Marketing Activities That are Not
Approved by The
Company
You must also immediately terminate any marketing activities of any kind which
use materials which have not
been approved by the Company. If you have any such materials in inventory, you
must destroy them immediately.
Please refer to the Policies & Procedures adopted by Seasilver. Paragraphs 15
and 17 expressly prohibit any

CS>LIST OWNER NOTICE, please read...

2003-05-14 Thread M. G. Devour
Greetings all,

It's been a really long time since we've had a significant problem on
the list. You've all handled it quite well in that several folks sent
me private e-mails to draw my attention to the situation.

I'm running a day or three behind on my reading, so I needed a
heads-up. Thank you.

I've suspended Hank from the list until we have a chance to figure out
what's bugging him and get him to calm down, if he chooses to.

Vulgar and threatening language is *not* going to be allowed and will
make you a prime candidate for being banned. If you value the list,
you'll refrain from such outbursts.

Political comments and wisecracks are prohibited as well, for the
obvious reason that there isn't *anything* you can say on the subject
that won't offend somebody or other.

Lastly, IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SOMEBODY'S BEHAVIOR contact me in
PRIVATE E-MAIL rather than making remarks on list. Don't try to play
list cop... that's my job.

This includes complaints about tag lines. I'm the arbitor on such
things. I've had no problem completely ignoring Hank's taglines. I
don't even know what they're about. If you can make a case (in private)
for why I should ask him to change them, let me know. Otherwise, please
do the same.

Now let's allow the furor to die down WITHOUT any further comments.
It'll take everybody a day or two or three to catch up, so people will
be responding to old messages for several days. Just ignore them,
please!

Thank you all for the generally high quality of behavior and
discussion. Peace, my friends.

Be well,

Mike Devour

Re: CS>FW: PI Notice: eBay Auction(s) Cancelled - INSERT TEXT HERE

2001-11-16 Thread James Allison
It won't work. I had about 20 silver related auctions pulled and immediately
called them to find out what the problem is/was. I'm one of those lucky people
that pay eBay quite a bit of money monthly, so they tend to talk to me when I
need their help. Anyhow, they are dead set on not allowing CS this time. They
got a FDA notice about a month and a half ago, at which point they cancelled
all CS auctions, and I called, and got things set straight pertaining to the
law and they re-adjusted their policy so people could list CS auctions again.
Problem is they just got a second notice from the FDA that looked a bit more
intimidating, so they put the CS ban back in place, and this time they are not
going to change it back. It's looking like the FDA is having a hard time going
after all the small fish, so they're hitting the places where the small fish
hang out.

Yours in health,
James Allison

You might reply to them and quote the FDA ruling. which clearly states
"Colloidal silver is a suspension of silver particles in a colloidal
(gelatinous) base.", and rename yours as a silver supplement.

CS>FW: PI Notice: eBay Auction(s) Cancelled - INSERT TEXT HERE

2001-11-15 Thread Connie
I just got this from EBay.
I listed one bottle yesterday.
I made no claims with the listing, only the contents of the bottle (steam
distilled H2O, silver colloids) and a description of the bottle.
There were several CS products already listed prior to my listing.

Dear Connie (wufn...@stargate.net),

eBay appreciates the fact that you chose to list your auction(s):

1663900863 Colloidal Silver

with us. However, it has been brought to our attention that the FDA has
found colloidal silver products to be unsafe. The FDA has classified
colloidal silver products to be misbranded because adequate directions
cannot be written so that the general public can use these drugs safely for
their intended purposes. They are also misbranded when their labeling
falsely suggests that there is substantial scientific evidence to establish
that the drugs are safe and effective for their intended uses. Based on
this information, eBay has determined that the sale of items containing
colloidal silver will no longer be allowed on our site. Therefore, these
auctions have been ended and all associated fees have been refunded to your
account.

For a complete text of the ruling by the FDA in this matter, please view the

Re: CS>Fw: PLEASE NOTICE: MAG. PULSER INFO

2001-10-31 Thread brooks bradley
Dear Ivan,
While it is true that circulation parameters are made to ---in some
cases---rise by 400% regardless of the polarity exposures.we have
determined a generally-antagonstic component manifesting in cases of acute
traumawhen exposed to the South (north seeking) Pole generating side of
the electromagnetic field. The north pole demonstrates to effect a much
more ameliorating effect..as opposed to the South pole's stimulating
effectsunder tissue-trauma conditions. This is of major import in cases
where reduction of trauma insults are the principal consideration. There
does appear to be a quite distinct difference in cellular-component
orientation under the direct influence of a North versus South
pole..irrespective if it is of a fixed (permanent magnet) or of an
electro-magnetic origin.
Very acute rise times (slope) seem to be less a consideration for
effectiveness, than does the power of the generated field (at least that has
been our experience).
If this thread is to continue I suggest we move it to the
Off-Topic List now.
In any event I will make no more comments on this topic on this list.
Best regards,Brooks.

Clinical observations with magnetic therapies seem to bear out different results
depending on polarity. One pole induces and the other diminishes growth. Could
be significant concerning cancer cells etc.

Solar,

I don't see why using the north side or south side of a magnetic pulser
should make any difference, as the objective of using a fast rising magnetic
pulse is to induce a current flow in those tissues and pathogens within the
field. Or am I missing something here?

CS>Re[2]: CS>Fw: PLEASE NOTICE: MAG. PULSER INFO

2001-10-31 Thread Solar
List,

Anyone experimenting with such a setup should note that it is NOT
ISOLATED from the main electrical service that you plug it in to. This
is a hazard. Be CERTAIN to fully insulate all connections, especially
the connections made to the coil.

For what may be an easier, and certainly a bit safer (a BIT safer,
because we are talking 330-360 volts here) project, one may want to
check out the "strobe kit" that is offered by Radio Shack. It can be
found at..
http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=990%2D0074
It is only $11.95, you can order it online, and it is powered by 6-12
volts DC. This will provide isolation from the mains.

Whatever you do, BE CAREFUL!!

Brooks and list:

Anyone building one of these devices may be interested in the
following..

All Electronics
http://www.allelectronics.com
Page 66 of their current catalog lists the following.
PHOTOFLASH rated capacitors. These are rated for photoflas use, and
will withstand that abuse far longer than your typical electrolytic!

160 microfarad 360 volt --- $1.00 each
200 microfarad 360 volt --- $1.25 each
410 microfarad 300 volt --- $2.00 each
600 microfarad 330 volt --- $2.50 each

I personally use the 600 microfarad, 330 volt. The prices above are
for 1 unit. They offer discounts in lots of 10 units.

Also, one may want to change out the flashtube. Using the stock unit
(I believe it is rated at 4 watt/seconds) will result in iits demise
before too long.

Mouser Electronics
http://www.mouser.com
Page 108 of their current catalog lists an array of flashtubes. I have
had good luck using stock number 36FT106, which is rated at 60
watt/seconds, and 10,000 flashes.

Also, you may want to change any resistors in the charging circuit. I
wouldn't change their resistance value, but rather their power rating
(wattage) so that they don't burn up.

Also, if you don't want to wind your own coil, you can order one. You
can order an AMS brand air-core crossover coil from MCM Electronics.
http://www.mcmelectronics.com
You may not find it listed, but if you call them they still have them.
1-800-543-4330 is the current number I have for them (check their
website to be sure). The catalog number is #50-940. It is wound with
16 gauge wire, has a resistance of 0.58 ohms, and an inductance of 2.5
mH. It measures 2-7/8 inches in diameter, and costs $10.65 the last
time I ordered a few.

I have read that you want to pule with the NORTH side of the coil.
Also, a good, high-surge-current diode reverse biased across the
capacitor will limit "ringing", and increase capacitor life.

Just my 2 cents, of course.

CS>(NOTICE!) Silver List Vendors FAQ

1999-08-08 Thread M. G. Devour
Hi Silver List people!

A new list member recently asked me if she could ask for vendors of
CS makers on the list to e-mail her info about their products. I
believe this request represents a common need for information that
others feel as well.

So, I asked, and she graciously volunteered to assemble the Silver
List Vendors FAQ.

A round of applause, please, to Rebecca Mahoney for her generous
service to our little community.

This repeats some aspects of Vernon Allison's recent offer to list
links on his web page, but the emphasis and content will be a little
bit different, and I hope worthwhile.

INSTRUCTIONS:

To qualify for a listing in the FAQ you should:

Be a subscriber in good standing, and at least a semi-regular
contributor to the silver-list. (I ought to at least recognize your
name and know you're a "good netizen".)

Provide a Colloidal Silver related product or service that is at
least partly derived from your own labor in terms of research,
services, or manufacture. In other words, I'm looking more for the
originator of a product or service than distributors. If you are a
qualified ND or other practitioner, and use CS as part of your
practice you would also qualify.

(*IF* you don't meet the above conditions but you would like to
submit an entry, I will happily consider it on a case-by-case basis.
I'm more inclined to include than exclude, so let's see how it goes.)

Your listing should take the following form:

Name and/or Business Name

Brief description, 150 words or less, of products or services,
including pricing of Colloidal Silver related items, unique features,
experience or qualifications, etc. I want positive, specific
info about *your* products, *NO* comparisons or criticism of
others'.

Contact info, including any or all of: Name, e-mail address or web
site, mailing address, phone number, etc...

E-mail your submission to Rebecca Mahoney, .

***WARNING*** Do NOT send your listing to the Silver-List.

Be *sure* that Becky is the only one in the addressee or To: field,
and that the silver list is *not* cc'd or otherwise included in the
distribution.

*IF* you manage to mis-send your submission to the entire list
despite this *WARNING*, we shall all consider it a measure of your
technical incompetency, adjust our opinion of your product or
services accordingly, AND HARASS YOU MERCILESSLY WITH FEATHERS AND
WET NOODLES!

You have been ***WARNED!***

Ahem. Seriously. Please let's not have any "mistakes", okay?

CONCLUSION:

I hope all our regulars who are vendors will take part and that it
will encourage some of our lurkers to step up and contribute to our
efforts.

The Vendors FAQ will be reposted occasionally. I hope it will be of
help to new folks and everybody to be able to know what the good
people here have to offer.

Comments and suggestions welcomed.

Again, I heartily thank Rebecca for her help on this.

Be well,

Mike D.

Re: NOTICE

1998-07-14 Thread Douglas McMurtrie
Wil,

How ironic life is sometimes. I've spent the last two evenings helping a
friend search for her lost dog in the woods. Needless to say, she is
quite distraught. Then I came home, checked my email, and the first post
I read is your's about the passing of your friend. My heartfelt
condolences Wil. A loss like that is always painful. I am very sorry.
Out of your grief though, your's and Chuck's loving spirits shine the
Light on us all. I am humbled. Blessings on you both.

Doug.

NOTICE

1998-07-13 Thread W. D. Cavanaugh
With no apology, I launch into the personal here. If you don't
want to share grief, please feel free to delete this very personal
message to you who in such a short while have shared so much with me.
Wil Cavanaugh

She was one of our best friends. The people with whom she lived
until 1993 called her Buddha-- the enlightened one. They were
going to put her to sleep, because they suspected she had killed
one of their ducks. Chuck loved her, and would not allow that,
so he brought her home where she has been the kindest, happiest,
most wonderful spirit around. She frequently had a rooster
who walked beside her. She knew the peafowl well, while we
had those birds. We had many waterfowl who trusted and loved
her. She was a snake-killer, and she hunted with Merlin in
her prime.

Living in a Baptist enclave has its disadvantages. Chuck
did not want to change Boo's name at her advanced age, but
he did not want the locals to think ill of her, so he suggested
a compromise. Why not change her name to "Bootiful?" And
so we did.

She knew her name, and she knew she was loved. We have many
memories, many pictures. She was our friend. We think there
was more wrong with her poor body at the end than just the
heart failure, for which we were taking her to the vet. She
would swell so big, and we'd have to have her drained. But she
lost nearly all her fine musculature. Both Chuck and I knew
last night that she had reached the end. Chuck sat in front of
her on the floor in the dining room, in the full knowledge that
she needed to leave. I will always believe that she was staying
until Chuck was ready to release her. Gently, with tears coursing
down his cheeks, he told her goodby. He told her that she was
free to go when she was ready. Then we picked her up and put her
on Chuck's pillow on the floor next to his side of the bed.

Chuck lay awake most of the night, and he was with her when she
passed over at 4:12 this morning. He got up and tended to her
dishes and leftover food. I am grateful that he got to be with
her. She loved me, but he was her special friend-- beloved above
all.

As you may imagine, we are in deep mourning. I knew she was not
well. . . desperately ill, in fact; but we miss her so deeply
it is beyond words.

She is now at the heart of God, I know. She can talk, she can
think as she never thought before, and she KNOWS she was loved--
still is. We will always be grateful to have spent 5 years with
this wonderful person-- our friend. And if I might be so bold
as to say: Our loss is Heaven's gain. They're going to have
some fun up there, now that our Bootiful is there to liven
the place up.

I've often heard: If it's not beautiful, you're not dead.
I believe that. It's the only thing that makes losing Bootiful
bearable. I hope you will forgive us for sharing our pain--
that was not my intent. I simply did not want the passing of
this most wonderful person to go by without remark. She deserves
better than that.

Yours,
Chuck & Wil
