Trim tape form a Auto Parts Store.

Cut it wide enough to wrap around the LE.

Works well.

Re: [RCSE] Electric Gentle Lady

1999-10-30 Thread ricvaughn

Hi,

If you want a nice Gentle Lady( Electra), use the master airscrew 3.5 box,
monster truck motor( they call it something else now, but available) and the
12X8 master airscrew prop. I had this setup in an Electra and it was great.
As for batteries, 1000, 1400, 1700, or 2000 will work fine. I have used all
of them, no problem. With 1700 or 2000 cells, you can expect 30 min flights
in dead air.

Someone said something about too much power. You can never have enough I
compete in LMR electric glider now and have a glider with 253 watts per
pound and I'm trying to improve it over the winter!

[RCSE] CASL

1999-10-30 Thread Walter Lynch

Does anybody know the URL to CASL in Arizona? Really like that cool man
flying RC cowboy straddling the sailplane logo they have. Reminds me of
Slim Pickens riding the nuke down in Dr. Strangelove!

[RCSE] [RSCE] Re: EPP shipping

1999-10-30 Thread Rpvi

Thanks for the mention Bob,

Just a minor Correction to your note regarding shipping EPP:

We at RPV use 4 cardboard corner protectors to keep the corners intact, then
use packing tape along all the edges to keep them intact.

In two years of shipping EPP I have never had a damage complaint.

(Maybe because the package is the packing! :-)

In a message dated 99-10-29 14:58:49 EDT, you write:

RPV Industries in California has competitive prices on EPP
and has a method of shipping that is cheaper than other
sources. They ship using the US Post Service for only
$5 to $7. To save money they do not use any wrapping
paper but instead just leave the raw EPP foam exposed
with the address labeled taped directly on. There is
a slight risk in doing this of getting abbrasions
in the EPP surface but this is not normally a problem.

[RCSE] Wanted: JR Transmitter module

1999-10-30 Thread Bradley J Smith

I would like to buy a used JR transmitter module for a x-347 transmitter.
I would prefer an upper half frequency, odd number if possible.
If you have a matching JR receiver crystal, that would be great too!

Thanks,

Brad Smith

Re: [RCSE] Why Krylon?

1999-10-30 Thread FuseWorks

There is also a high likelihood that you're using the wrong kind of Krylon.
The non-enamel type is what you really want -- white #1501, interior/exterior
works quite well. Make sure and give it at least 24 hours drying time too.
Clean the cured surfaces with rubbing alcohol and then window cleaner... It
polishes out beautifully with any good, extra fine polishing compound.

See Ya,

[RCSE] level V

1999-10-30 Thread AMA3655

Guys -

The LSF level V plaque was presented to me today, with great hoopla and much
ceremony, at the LSF contest here in Huntsville. Damn, it feels GOOD!

Many thanks to all who helped. If you are reading this you were probably
instrumental to the accomplishment of this long held goal. For those of you
still seeking - hang tough, it can be done, and it does feel good.

He's right, there are 3 types of krylon, there is a laquer, and enamel
and the worst thing on the planet..a latex
You really don't want the latex
