[RCSE] Wanted Escape wings

2006-08-06 Thread Dan Neelands

Im looking for a set of Jaro Escape wings. Any
condition will be considered. I actually prefer a less expensive, slightly
beat up set. Ill also consider buying an entire plane if the price is
right.

Please email me direct at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks,

Dan Neelands

[RCSE] Artemis for sale

2005-12-01 Thread Dan Neelands
600$ + insured shipping RTF minus receiver. SA7035 airfoil, 68 ounces all
up. The only issue worth mentioning is a skin crease on top of one wing. It
was this way when I got it and never changed in many full pedal launches and
deep zooms. Please see the picture at,
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=447848.

There are a few other minor scuffs. The worst of these is a small ding in
one wingtip. The fuse has HS-85BBs as do the tips (plug and play). This may
sound odd but the flaps are GWS micro 2BBMG. This is an honest 75 in/oz
metal geared servo which, for my money, is more reliable and centers better
than the HS-125.
I will ship in a good box with careful packing and photo documentation in
case there is a shipping claim. I also promise to go through the hoopla with
the shipping company if there is a claim. Some people don't realize that
only the shipper can do that.
Please email me with any questions. [EMAIL PROTECTED] I am not on
the computer all day and night so it could be a little while before you get
a reply but please hang in there. If you want to buy the plane please make
that clear or you will not be considered in line.

Thanks for looking!

RE: [RCSE] Re: Soaring V1 #6696: LMR motor for Pike Superior

2005-11-14 Thread Dan Neelands

If no one has mentioned it don't forget to look at Neu motors. I am running
a 1506 2D 6.71 gearbox on 10 GP 3300s with terrific results. 80 amps with
an 18x10 prop in an electric Escape. It's smoother than a Hacker and I can
talk to the people who built it on the phone.
I had some range issues with a UBEC too. Now that I have a little 4 cell
AAA pack in there the worry of motive pack failure is gone as are the range
issues. If a cell goes bad in the motive pack or something else it's still
a glider!

Have a look at http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3D440307.
It's about the crash of a Stratos SL/e, tentatively blamed on an SBEC,
which is a stand-alone battery eliminator.

Rethinking, yes, of course! But one of those gizmos that replaces a rx
battery saves a lot of weight.

And yes, form factors when it comes to Li-Ion packs can make them
impossible to use - but check around, there are many brands!

Sensorless Hacker controllers are a blessing, after having used AVeox's
sensored, 'nuff said :-)!

The standard CG position is 55 mm aft of the wing root leading edge.

[RCSE] Inverters (Warning)

2004-12-18 Thread Dan Neelands
I have used many, many inverters from the early tripp-lite buzz boxes to the
latest sine wave equipment. They cause radio interference. The inexpensive
ones are the worst. The interference does not seem to follow much of a
pattern and effects all bands to some degree. Why not just rewind the
soldering iron for 12 volts? Saves the money for the inverter, inefficiency
at the battery and the shame of shooting someone down.
