While many top pros arn't using gyros I have found it an easy way to add 10ft' average height to my launches. (measured with a ram2 altimiter). Another benefit is a gyro can really save you from a hooked launch. I think for a begining dlg thrower they are a good investment. you don't need an expensive one the MPI gyro is under $50 and works great right out of the box. with the case off it's pretty light I'm guessing 5-7 grams? just my 2 cents Pete RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. I have been using Tom's wiring harness in my fleet of Opus's exclusively. I live in Hawaii and slope and Dynamic soar from wind blown in from the Pacific Ocean. This salty air corrodes all things metal at an alarming rate as shown by my rusty 1997 truck.
