Re: [RCSE] Can anybody identify this plane?

I have to agree with Marc. That does look like a Pulsar fuse and wings. Not
sure about the stabs. I have a set of foam cores in the basement for a
Pulsar from way back, mid 90's I think.

Re: [RCSE] Cool club meeting ideas

I remember back when I flew with the SBSS group in San Jose we had a
build and fly an indoor H/L contest. If I remember right the club
provided the materials and the team brought the radio gear. I think
it was a one or 1.5 hour build. I remember being on the winning team
one year with a 30 second or so flight. harder than you think in a
small room. I don't know if they still do the contest or not, hey
Brian Chan do you guys still stage the contest?

2005-06-21 Thread ejfranz
You know it's kind of funny. We spend all this time trying to build the
cleanest plane possible with internal linkages and as little drag as
possible trying to get that last bit of performance. Then we strap on the
large drag inducers know as skegs to stop us on landing. What's wrong with
this picture? :-)

[RCSE] Re: Loft FRU

2004-10-04 Thread ejfranz
Thanks to Tom (I bet I can out climb you in 2 minutes Steve) Siler, and
Jerry ( Who decided on a13 minute max?) Shape for a excellent contest.

There was very little easy air at Muncie yesterday. On my first flight of the
day Johnny Berlin and I chased each outer across the sky for 13 minutes from
thermal to thermal. We never did get very high, never too much above launch
height. If you got up and out, you went very far down wind. It became a
contest of guts to see how far downwind you dared fly. A lot of hero or zero
flights.

The landings got harder as the day went on and the wind picked up. I had my
Graphite picked up and slammed down upside down in the landing zone. It
shattered one half of my V-Tail. It can be fixed (thanks Tom!) Anyone out
there have a V-tail for a Graphite Comp the might want to sell? It would not
hurt to have a spare.

Good to see all my buddies on a great day of soaring! Thanks to JR for all
the support, and Marc for putting it all together. Can't wait till next
year!

Re: [RCSE] Gordy...Who is this gentleman reply

2004-09-29 Thread ejfranz
Well Jack, since you opened the door...

For a rickety old man he sure does get around. Europe, Australia,
Kentucky...

A harmless beggar? Maybe, but He and I know what showed up at my door from
Norway that he found for me. (NO, it was not a mail-order blond bride.)

I could tell a few stores about him. Maybe the one about painting the fuse
with servos in it. The only time I have ever seen any color servo other than
blue in a Gordy plane.

Some people think of him as brash and boastful. I prefer to think of him as
confident. I always seem to have fun when he is around, except for maybe the
time he almost brained me DSing at Brookville.

Enough said, want to add anything Bruce, Barry, Paul, Rudy?

Ed

Imagine if you can a rickety man, sort hobbled over, Like an older peasant
like you would see on Loerd of the rings, not with a bundle of wood on his
back, but a sports tube, with his prized volz power pike.

He begs for places to stay, food, as a last resort he will spend his own
money, but would rather not.

He travel the land pillaging contests for their wood, and if he can't do
that, he gathers their young, bores them to death, with proficies of flight,
and other aeronautical mysteries, fully explainedin his own mind.

Yes, a harmless beggar, who will sell you things you don't need, or things
that won't work.

Will take advantage of your kindness, cause he knows he can when he looks at
you with his puppy dog eyes !!!

Oh heck I better quit, I am gonna cry !!!
Someone else want to jump on this one..ED !!

[RCSE] For Sale

2004-07-20 Thread ejfranz
For Sale 2-meter Monarch

I have for sale a ready to fly 2-Meter Monarch from DJ Aerotech. This is one
on the early versions with a ton of carbon in the wing lay-up, this plane
will take a full pedal launch with no wing flex. The plane comes with JR
341's for ailerons, Hitec 225's for flaps and Airtronic's 555's for the
V-tail. The Airtronics 8 channel receiver is also included. Ready to fly
weight is 35 oz. All you need to do is charge program and fly.

The plane is in great shape, I just never fly it anymore. I can't really
ship the plane because of the one piece wing. I can deliver the plane to the
Nats at Muncie this weekend. I am asking $350 or best offer. If you need a
2-meter for Nats this is it! If you have a Stylus I can supply the set up
for you.

Thanks for Looking,
Ed Franz
