I've seen that Great Planes ElectriFly Rx's split the frequency band into two parts Tuned to either Low band (11-35) or High band (36-60). which is odd since these Rx's will automatically select the shift of the Tx. (Course since I'm no EE maybe it's not odd at all!) Since I have two Tx's at channels 46 and 21, this is a PIA. My question is: do the current crop of JR Rx's split the R/C frequency band in parts as does Mr. Wales JR NER-627XZ 7 channel PCM receiver? To expand on the previous answer given, these receivers are `tuned' to give best results in the band of frequencies given. If you put in a crystal for say 72.860 or so, it would probably still work, though you'd probably have reduced range. I don't know if this means that the `high band' and `low band' receivers have slightly different components, or if they've just adjusted them a bit differently. In any event, it's probably best to stick within the range of frequencies listed. | I've seen that Great Planes ElectriFly Rx's split the frequency band | into two parts Tuned to either Low band (11-35) or High band | (36-60). which is odd since these Rx's will automatically select | the shift of the Tx. Totally different things. The positive or negative shift has nothing to do with `high' or `low' part of the 72 mHz band. | My question is: do the current crop of JR Rx's split the R/C | frequency band in parts as does Mr. Wales JR NER-627XZ 7 channel PCM | receiver? Don't know. I know Futaba seems to do it now with most of their receivers, but I don't know about JR. Though I'm a bit surprised that Great Planes is doing automatic shift selection, since I believe they're pretty much in bed with Tower and Futaba ... | Also do any of them select the proper shift of the Tx in use? I doubt it. JR and Futaba are the `leaders' in the market, and they don't seem to see much value in making their equipment work with each other. The smaller players -- Hitec, Airtronics, GWS, etc -- do see the benefit, and often make equipment that can work with either positive or negative shift. (Which is one good reason to avoid Futaba and JR, and buy the other guy's stuff.) -- Doug McLaren, [EMAIL PROTECTED] First one through this door gets a, gets a LEAD SALAD! [RCSE] Jr Receiver ?
I was looking through a padded case where I keep all my RC electronics and came across a JR NER-627XZ 7 channel PCM receiver. On the side of the receiver there is a sticker that says low band 72.010-72.510 does that mean those are the only channels it can be used with? Thanks Mark Soaring Is Life!! Try Radio South in FL. They rechanneled my RD6000 Tx including XTAL for $32. They packaged it securely for return too. Good people and they answer their own phones. Ask for Tony. Radio South 3702 N.
