[RCSE] Sharon Pro 3.7 still f/s

2006-10-01 Thread Daryl Perkins
Professionally built by John Luetke (The Sharon
Maestro) Linkage is solid and smooth - no binding.

Over 1650 invested with servos... asking 1500 OBO.

I mentioned the ding in the LE. It is BARELY
noticeable. Not aerodynamic, strictly cosmetic.

All Airtrix Digi servos.

This is one straight airplane.

I only bought it as I had a broken Insanity for the
Masters, and couldn't get an Insanity together fast
enough. Only selling it cuz I prefer my Insanity...
I'm building another one.

First reasonable offer takes it.

Thanks for the bandwidth!

Re: [RCSE] Sharon 3.7 Pro Wanted

2005-11-27 Thread Mark Williams
Was yours on the board? If it was I would not be so cool. This should not
ever happen, especially with a frequency control board!!! How did his get
removed, did it ever get attached to the board, how will we ever know or is
that just an excuse for not accepting responsibility?

We fun and practice fly at a field that does not allow us to have permanent
structures, thus no structured frequency control boards. An incident
occurred this last week where a long time club member and ex-safety officer
turned on with out knowing who was in the air. The offended pilot was
knowledgeable enough to know he had an issue. He announced his problem and
the person on the ground turned off quickly enough for the man in the air to
recover control. I was very perturbed that these guys that fly together on a
daily basis had become so lax.

I sold that airplane to the offended pilot and he just prior to that had
told me I did him a favor. It isn't pretty and no where near the caliber of
a Sharon. But, guys frequency control is not something to take lightly. $150
or $3,000, five pound objects traveling at potential speeds in excess of 100
MPH are not trivial particularly when uncontrolled.

[RCSE] Sharon 3.7 build - pushrod attachment/support

2005-04-21 Thread clayrace2000

I'm wondering what's the best way to attach/support the stock nylon
rod in nylon sleeve pushrods in a Sharon. If driping CA down the
outer tube is done, how do you keep the tube against the fuse all the
way down it's length? I was considering using epp bulkheads every foot
or so and using shoe goo where they touch the pushrod. If I was to do
that, should the pushrods be on the outside of the bulkhead or should
I make holes in the center of the bulkheads for the pushrods? It's a
long fuse and I want to make sure that everything is snug.

Thanks,

Clay

[RCSE] Sharon Pro 3.7m V-Tail - anyone have any construction pictures?

2004-12-14 Thread Russ Light
Hi,
I was hoping someone could send me some pictures/advice of how they did the
V-tail linkage on a newer Sharon Pro 3.7m V-Tail. On mine the V-tail has
music wire control horns that extend down. The linkage provided for
engaging the music wire is a clevis like link with a ball that can
rotate. The ball has a hole that the music wire passes through. I believe
other Sharon models use a more traditional ball link setup. The linkage is
straightforward but a trail fit of the v-tail on the fuselage showed that
the tail of the fuselage is too long and block the music wire horns. It
seems like I have two options: 1) cut the fuselage back so that the 'horns'
clear but expose all the linkage 2) slot the fuselage to allow the motion
of the horns but this looks like it might be a little tight. I'd
appreciate any feedback especially a picture or two, thanks.

Re: [RCSE] Sharon pro flap question

2002-12-05 Thread James Porter Jr
Any one have experence getting 80 to 90 degrees of travel one one of these
things? I can get enought travel but the flap hinge is so stiff I'm
stalling a 60 inch oz torque servo at about 45 degrees.

I've run into this problem with one or two planes when I thought I REALLY
needed 80 or 90 degrees of flap. Actually 60 or 70 is generally enough
unless you want to stop before you can think about it. Ocasionally the
hinge line has not been scored deep enough or wide enough to make the hinge
flexible enough for large angles - or there is still too much epoxy left in
the fabric to allow the hinge to flex easily.

With the wing well supported upside down on a foam pad flex the flap towards
you using both hands equally spaced on the flap. SLOWLY flex the flap until
it goes slightly past the position you are looking for. You may want to
approach this in stages. Once you've reached the desired point, flex the
flap up and down many times. Finally, tape the flap to hold it there
overnight. While you're doing this listen to the wing for bad sounds - STOP
immediately if you start hearing strange noises. You might, with good
hearing, be able to hear the epoxy flaking off the hinge material - that's
ALL you should hear. Also, as you approach the point where the hinge
becomes stiff, look at the area on either side of the hinge line for
distortion or deviation from a flat appearance - STOP if things start to
look wrong.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

I have a Sharon 3.6 (white with blue trim) that I would like to sell. The
aircraft is in excellent condition and flies very well. Overall, the
aircraft is fairly low time and I need to sell it to focus on the 2003 F3J

tail bags are included.

Josh,

Here are the costs for a new Sharon.

$800 for the plane
$370 for the servos (4 JR digital and 2 HS-85 mg)

Total cost = $1170 (when it was new)
I'd be willing to sell it for $900 (negotiable).

Thanks, Josh.

I will be receiving a shipment of Sharons in about two weeks ,most are pre
sold but a couple are up for grabs. If you want this awsome TD ship or have
been asking, now is your chance to have one. When these are gone it will be
another 10 weeks to the next batch.

I also have been playing around in my shop with the new EMS Discus 2b 1/3
scale 5 meter ship. this is going to be quite a hot rod I predict. Super
rigid wings with carbon, water ballast and a complex, scale, side opening
canopy that raises the instrument mushroom when you open the canopy, and
blue velvet upholstery. Plus as I mentioned before two complete tip set ups.
I may just put some servos in this baby and campaign it next season myself.

also the last of the 4.29 meter HKM ASW-27's is still available from the
last shipment. Critically acclaimed as the highest quality molded ship
available in scale.

I am going to offer free domestic shipping on the ASW-27, and free import
shipping on the Discus for a limited time (domestic freight charges will
apply). Call for details

[RCSE] Sharon

2000-07-27 Thread Keith

I have another Sharon that I might be willing to sell. It's my #1 contest ship, but a
certain distributor may sponsor me with 2 new planes for Visalia, in which case I'll
be willing to sell it. The price would be $1250, shipped. Interested? It's only
been flown mabe 15 flights or so. Absolutely flawless, and has wipers installed for
the flaps and ailerons (Sharons don't normally have them), as well as custom made,
tape-on skegs. All Volz Micro-Maxx servos installed.
