[speedtouch] pppoa2 error

2003-02-10 Thread Juel da Costa

Does anyone know what could be causing the error in pppoa2.log below? I
personally don't even know where to start looking for the cause...
modem_run is running fine without any errors.
I'm using /usr/local/sbin/pppoa2 -v 1 -e 1 -d /dev/ugen0 -vpi 8 -vci 48
dmesg shows my modem as: ugen0: ALCATEL Speed Touch 330, rev 1.10/2.00,
addr 2

If you need more info let me know please.

thanks,
Juel

[speedtouch] Re: errno: No such process on OpenBSD 3.2

2003-01-24 Thread Juel da Costa

according to the ./configure output pthread.lib isn't yet supported ( I
guess this is only true for OpenBSD ) so pppoa3 doesn't get build by make
so I can only use pppoa2. Should work though because if I look through the
mailing archives I can see that many people are using the speedtouch
drivers with OpenBSD 3.2...

I was surprised to see that you use pppoa2 and not pppoa3.

 Hi all,

I am hoping anyone can help me with the following problem:

Having just installed a clean OpenBSD 3.2 system (on a laptop) I have
built and installed speedtouch-1.1.tar.gz and copied mgmt.o the /usr/local/libdata/
. I have copied the sample ppp.conf file to /etc/ppp/ppp.conf and
amended it to fit my own requirements and changed /etc/syslog.conf to
enable modem_run and pppoa2 to log to /var/log/messages.

When I start modem_run it all seems to work fine according to the log entries
in /var/log/messages but when I start ppp adsl I'm getting the following
 error messages :

 Jan 23 14:56:15 omni ppp[27087]: tun0: Warning: Add route failed: 0.0.0.0/0:
 errno: No such process

and then I'm dropped into ppp interactive mode.
When I open another console I can see that tun0 hasn't been configured.

I doublechecked that I specified the full path to pppoa2 in ppp.conf and
I even tried explicitly specifying -d /dev/ugen0 but that didn't work
 either.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this? Any suggestions would
be welcome because I'm getting desperate...

 Thanks,
 Juel

[speedtouch] Re: Alcatel Modem USB Initialization

2003-01-24 Thread Juel da Costa

I have, unless I've missed something that I shouldn't have... The
speedtouch-1.1.tar.gz file comes with installation instruction particular
to *BSD that (I think) I have followed to the letter.
Have you seen any info regarding building pppoa3 on OpenBSD? If so, could
you send me the url?
Thanks for your comments so far!

Juel

Im trying to find the initialization sequence required by the modem. Is
there a set sequence that needs to be followed, for example, first you
set the configuration, then download microcode, etc? Currently Im
running into a problem where the modem will not load the microcode Im
sending to it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 Thanks,
 Jack
