Really? I keep a close eye on my spam, and a search on
news.admin.net-abuse.sightings suggests this is a recent
development for the bolik## make-penis-fast spammer.

Anyway, http://tinyurl.com/39v8t if anyone has the inclination
to compare variants of the "ciphertext."

I get that 5F spam trash every day. I imagine it has something to do with
filters. You can't filter out words that don't exist.

The problem with many of these gibberish messages is that they include
"pictures" with a size of 0 (yes, zerõ!) bits. When opening such a message,
the e-mail program contacts the link with the 0-bit picture and in doing so
also sends the IP-address to the spammer. The victim may now notice it, but
the spammer has another valid IP-address to add to his collection...

I believe they're tracking groups to identify the suckers that reply to
it. Would be interesting to see if they make any sort of sense though.

First time I've seen five-letter groups in spam! Apparently a
refinement to the usual hashbusters in the usual "b*lik36" spew,
appended to the end:

qptxv lolsb eprhy xwcna ptinq wodpn iokou mikym
xcrrh bybbkiiosq cdmwd linsx kbxhc tuxqy hgded kqpky ybngs
qarhu xdwaw qwsyc wiucd vgrmv tmfoy iwuam rwivg lbaxq ehkqh
ezsur smzps esqsv gprks yltng mfvgt
qwioc tbyxo nkvow uhjoa
kuptp pwvtu

Time for me to dig out the approximate-entropy stuff again,
perhaps.

Cheers,

On a relatively unrelated note, I still have the funniest spam I ever
received. It reads as follows:

"-- Forwarded message --
Date: Wed, 23 Jul 03 11:48:35 GMT
From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
To:
Subject: Dimensional Warp Generator Needed zssh

Hello,

I'm a time traveler stuck here in 2003. Since nobody here seems to be
able to get me what I need (safely here to me), I will have to build a
simple time travel circut to get where I need myself. I am going to need
an easy to follow picture diagram for a simple time travel circut, which
can be built out of (readily available) parts here in 2003. Please email
me any schematics you have. I will pay good money for anything you send
me I can use Or if you have the rechargeable AMD dimensional warp
generator wrist watch unit available, and are 100% certain you have a
(secure) means of delivering it to me please also reply. Send a separate
email to me at: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Do not reply back directly to this email as it will only be bounced back
to you.

Thank You"

It's good to see the bastards being clever for once...
