But many of its arguments and switches use square brackets. As soon as I use them Squeezebox Server complains that it cannot find the corresponding binary... This seems just an oversight or maybe I'm missing something. The transcoding helper framework considers strings in square brackets helper applications, thus tries to find them on your system and substitute them in the define command line. You might have more luck writing a script with all the commands and only refer the script name in the conversion rule set. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Well .. I decided to look a little harder. Almost 5 minutes after posting the previous reply, I did a little more sleuthing I found a trace to a Google Code archive (that I participated in but forgot about the discussion) 12 years ago after talk of reviving Erland's original project to work with LMS7. I've spent a fair amount of time doing searches the last two days but for anyone in the future looking for Eric's repositories, he's put them up on Github (thank you Eric). You can find them here (hope Eric doesn't mind me putting a link up. If you do Eric, I will remove the link. I still appreciate your work 12 years ago when I asked for this plugin). https://github.com/koldinger?tab=overview&from=2020-04-01&to=2020-04-30 NFLnut's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13180 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112506 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

This makes > sense to me as it provides headroom for all equalization calculations. > But I might be mistaken. As to your two questions, here's what I concluded when I looked into this a couple of years ago: 1. I don't think the -D option is needed when you've specified 24-bit output. Here's what the SoX manual says: "[B]y default, SoX automatically adds TPDF dither when the output bit-depth is less than 24 and any of the following are true: bit-depth reduction has been specified explicitly using a command-line option the output file format supports only bit-depths lower than that of the input file format an effect has increased effective bit-depth within the internal processing chain" 2. SoX uses 32-bit processing internally for its effects, incl. equalization, so that already offers plenty of headroom. But if you didn't specify "-b 24", then SoX would apply dither to the output file, esp. if the input file, like a lot of CD-quality music, is 16 bit. That said, I gather that savage wars have been fought over dithering, noise-shaping, etc., so I wouldn't want to comment any further. With that out the way, I have to admit that I've never seen the point of the commented line (# FT:{START=...) and the first part of the following line, up to the pipe that sends output to SoX. Instead, I've been using this stripped-back custom-convert for equalization for almost two years now: Code: flc flc * 00:00:00:00:00:00 [sox] -q -t flac $FILE$ -b 24 -t flac - equalizer 40.8 5q -11.4 equalizer 62.8 2.487q -11.3 equalizer 87.7 5q -3.2 equalizer 263 5q -7.4 This works just fine, without the additional code. It is one that mixes me up and I think i'd use "-t" as it is processing the input end time and not the output end time. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112497 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

If somebody for whatever reason would prefer to use ffmpeg for FLAC processing this should work (seek works, END should work for cue files but I don't have any to test): Code: flc flc * bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70 # FT:{START=-ss %t}U:{END=-to %v} [ffmpeg] -loglevel quiet $START$ $END$ -i $FILE$ -f wav - | [sox] -D -q -t wav - -t flac -C 0 -b 24 - gain -6.9 equalizer 30 0.43q +6.2 equalizer 699 2.00q +1.0 ... etc. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112497 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Stepping through installing individual plugins, and rescanning the music library I found the playlists would 'disappear' when I installed the "PlayHLS" plugin. (I can uninstall, rescan and the playlist contents reappear. Install/rescan the playlists show as 'empty') I'll track down on the PlayHLS thread to ensure I've got the latest version, and see if there is an issue. kidhazy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42259 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108532 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Lms crashes
Paul Webster wrote: > Can you attach it to a screen (HDMI) and then see if the under-power > indicator (yellow lightning flash) comes up around the time of failure? Hi Paul, Tried that and no yellow led. Scan failed after about 170 tracks scanned. Tried again this morning and scanned 8700 of 9000 before crashing again no sign of yellow led. Ran another scan looking for changed only and this ran to completion. The library stats are slightly different from my current Windows LMS instance, seems to be about 100 tracks less on the pi lms. Had a couple of crashes following the completion of the scan when I was looking through the log files but Ive left it idle now for about an hour and no crashes. So a step forward but still seems flaky. mcgoverg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112461 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
