OK - I checked and LMS is handling the Tidal multi disc sets as individual albums so that is great! However, my original problem with the naming of the Moody Blues album persists. It is the only case I have where I have replaced an earlier Tidal version with a version from my local library. 84tiger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14908 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113339 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

It is showing this 2 disc set as two albums. The problem is the album name. The first disc is named properly "This Is The Moody Blues (CD1)". The second disc is not named properly. It should be labelled as "This Is The Moody Blues (CD2)". Instead it is labelled "This Is The Moody Blues (CD2) (Disc 2 of 2)". The appended (Disc 2 of 2) seems to be a carryover from the Tidal version label. The album has been removed from my favorite albums in Tidal and I have checked the tags in mp3tag and there is no reference to (Disc 2 of 2). I am assuming your test was with Tidal versions of this album. In the past the Tidal version of multi disc sets were displayed in LMS as a single album with an appended (Disc 2 of 2) on the album name regardless of the choice made by the user under the "Group Discs" menu selection. If I understand your comment this has been fixed with the latest LMS version so the Tidal versions will now display as two albums?? I think my particular problem is related to having an earlier Tidal version and then replacing it with a version from my local library. Does this make sense?? 84tiger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14908 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113339 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Logitech Media Server 8.0.0 released!
To those still running LMS on an old NAS, or with an ancient version of piCorePlayer - please, just upgrade and, while you're about it, consider upgrading to a Pi 4. I'd been running LMS doggedly on my ReadyNAS NV+ v2 for years as it was surely the right thing to do, being on top of the filestore. It was sluggish, and took ages to scan the library. Finally, in summer 2018, I thought I'd try a Pi 3B+. At the time, it was piCorePlayer 3.5.0 with LMS 7.9.x. Installation & configuration felt rather flakey, but I got there in the end. Performance was a revelation, compared with the ReadyNAS - chalk and cheese. Better still, I was able to use my Pi as another music player, as well as my LMS server - awesome. Then, recently, another issue had been hitting me after occaisional power losses. While the Pi would start up fine, the NAS would need a manual power up, and so was unavailable to the freshly booted Pi - result: support grief from my wife when the "radio doesn't work". I decided to move to an "internal" music library on a 512GB USB 3 drive. While not as elegant as using the NAS, I have scripts that keep the two in sync. The real benefit is that the Pi is no longer dependent on an external file store to work. However, the USB drive was stuck at USB2 speeds on the Pi 3B+. That prompted me to give a try with the Pi 4 to get USB 3 speeds and a possible performance boost too. Boy was I surprised! The Pi 4 is noticably faster still than the Pi 3B+ and, along with the USB 3 drive, runs like a rocket. A full library scan in 9 mins, or a rescan in under 1 min - this used to take a couple of hours on the ReadyNAS, and just under an hour on the Pi 3B+. I was also worried that the Pi 4 would use more power and run hotter, after early reports of high temperatures. No problem, the Pi 4 runs just as cool as the Pi 3 B+, and draws the same power. Best of all, the latest versions of piCorePlayer are much easier to install, with 'step by step instructions' (https://docs.picoreplayer.org/how-to/), including how to set up LMS. So quick and easy that I'd happily re-install now if I had any problem. Thanks to the continued work from the people here who keep this development going, I have an awesome solution at pocket money price, which continues to get better. To anyone still putting up with old hardware - just don't! It's so cheap and so easy. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on MacOS 10.15 "Catalina"?
- But D&D perl5.18 into Full Disk Access solved this for me as well. The trick is you have to do it from Finder, and not from the System Pref pane, as the latter does not allow you to access system/protected files for some reason. Those protected files can be accessed via a standard Finder pane, by using the (Cmd + Shift + . (dot)) command. Then it's a simple D&D into Full Disk Access and a system restart. - catosmr> not quite following this step. Where is perl5.18? I see a folder labelled perl and then a subfolder labelled perl5.18. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Player pauses intermittently
On a general point. LMS is a single thread application- it runs on a single processor core. There is a central scheduling loop which check I/O from player, webUI, client UI, timers, disk etc. If a something (e.g. plugin, database loc, network disk i/o) badly behaves, it can hog the processor and stall all other action of LMS. So unless you have a unique set of software - look how your system is setup. Server log message should be examined and where possible addressed - if only to remove "noise" to find the real problem. That said, Server log message are not always significant but check server log time stamps. Disable all plugins and see if problem goes away. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113331 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Tx - I don't use the online services currently so have disabled the plugin, and it seems to have sorted the rescan issue. Maybe it should be disabled by default in a release version to help avoid issues? Also I must admit that I was assuming that 8.0.1 would be the release version! The issue should be addressed in the 8.0.1 nightly build. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
