Loaded the latest build followed by a complete clear and rescan of the library and the problem still seems to be there.
What exact revision are you using? With "group discs" enabled I get one album for your Moody Blues case, without that option it's two. I tested with a bunch more albums like Prince's Sign'o The Times (Super Deluxe Edition) 5-disc set.
