I found someone with same issue and he had to give everyone full access to the media folder to get it to see the folder. Not really safe but it works and LMS can see my main music folder now. For some reason VLC can't see the docker version of LMS even though it can see my VLC player. Yet nothing plays. Is there a good stand alone version I can put on my Linux machine that doesn't have these limitations? I tried converting over to the docker version and it's up and running but it doesn't see any of my media. My stand lone had 2 folders and I have read this one can only have one. Ok but can it have sub directories under my 1 folder? My stand alone had a folder called Multimedia and from there I had sub directories. The stand alone had no issue with this but the docker version doesn't seem to be able to see my subdirectories only the root multimedia folder. Is there a work around for this? I've been rummaging around in the config files, and noticed that favorites.opml has the following entry: Code: I've experimented with a new entry with URL="randomplay://stop" or URL="randomplay://disable" but that didn't work. Was worth a try though. Maybe I need a different option instead of type="audio" for the 'Stop Adding Songs' command in the plugin. Ok, so I have a workaround. I added a *Read *Permission for *Everybody * on the music path in question and I can now see and select the various music folders. It looks like Docker LMS uses a generic user and group ID (99 & 100) that show up as *Nobody* if you check the permissions of the Docker LMS folder. If it's the former, it's because I want the remainder of the queue to keep playing. As the title suggests I am running a Synology NAS and was using Synology's LMS & Perl until the great purge a few days ago with the Perl update which killed LMS. I've decided to go down the Docker route rather than downgrade Perl and have setup LMS on Docker and it seems to have worked fine using instructions I found in another post. I can listen to Radio streams for example. I cannot for the life of me get it to see the music folder I mount under the container options. I have tried different folders that contain music, but cannot get it to see anything. I'm convinced it is a permissions issue and it can't actually access the folders. On the SqueezeBox Touch (and Jivelite) I can add both 'Song Mix' and 'Stop Random Mix' to the Home Screen: 33902 Using the web interface, I can add the equivalent 'Random Songs' (from the Random Mix plugin) to my Favorites: 33903 However, I can't find a way to add the 'Stop Random Mix' option to my Favorites in the web interface - is this possible? I can do it via the Random Mix plug-in (see screenshot below) but can't work out if it can be added to my Favorites. I realise that I can just clear the queue to stop Random Mix too, but I'm wondering if the shortcut shown below, which retains the queue, can be added to my Favorites. 33904 Thanks! [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Login and reset problems in fresh LMS installation
Hello, after losing support and option to use the Logitech Media Server on the Synology (NAS) platform, I decided to install a server (LMS) on another computer (Apple). I downloaded Logitech Media Server from mysqueezebox.com and I'm going to do it. The program reported a registration error. After a dozen or so unsuccessful - I chose to reset the password. Despite 30 minutes of waiting, I did not receive an email with the information. I've checked another account, on another e-mail (I have 4 such devices, at home and at work) - the reaction was the same. After a while, I also reset this password - same. Finally, I set up a new account at the address number. A confirmation email came with the need to register (link). After clicking, I was brought up to mysqueezebox.com ... and in Logitech Media Server I still have trouble logging in - the same at this (3) address. [ Invalid username or password ] At the same time, I was logged in via www to mysqueezebox.com on another computer with the same login data. I've been using Squeezebox players for 9 years and there wasn't any problems with them. Any idea what to do? My DS-1618 just installed the latest PERL-Version. In the release notes it is mentioned: "After updating to this version, Logitech Mediaserver (EoL) will fail to start." Exactly this happened! And my ten SB's are unusable... Any ideas for a work around? Hi, I came here after having the issue with Perl on Synology DSM. Downgraded Perl and everything is running again, but I want to switch to the docker image to be better suited for the future. I followed the tutorial here to get the image lmscommunity/logitechmediaserver:latest. I applied the suggested settings, except that I didn't set /playlist to read-only. Every time I try to start the image, I now get: Code: usermod: no changes Starting Logitech Media Server on port 9000... mkdir /config/logs: Permission denied at /lms/Slim/Utils/Log.pm line 707. Afterwards, the docker image is stopped again. /config is mapped r/w to /volume1/audio/LogitechMediaServerConfig, a new folder I created for this situation. It's owned by nobody/users. I tried to change it to root:root and admin:users using SSH, but DSM/Docker seems to reset it back. How can I change permissions so that the docker image can write to /config ? Created a *Plugins* Folder in the Cache Folder - installed it there.
