I don't know how to work with WinSCP. When I fill in my IP-adress I have
to continue with a username and password which are unknown to me.
Isn't it possible to use the button 'Move LMS Data' in pCP (old
version)? But perhaps I should first change it to Network Disk?

Thanks, that's a relief! When I have the time I will work on WinSCP and
how to find and move my folders. Hope it's not too difficult.

Ok, thanks, I don't know what you mean with 'expand' the SD-card but I
will follow the How to steps later tonight.
I guess I can skip the 'How to setup wifi'-part because I don't use the
wifi on my pi. But I guess I have to edit the config.txt file and then I
can install LMS and then attach my NAS.

Ok, so far so good, I also used Win32. So now it's just inserting the SD

I guess I unzip the file in the download folder on my Windows pc, so not

Then I continue to the next step How to burn pCP on SD Card? What method
do you recommend: USBImager?

Ok. I think I will give it a try although I'm afraid it will not be easy
for me. So I have a few questions.
I guess all my entries of my present PiCP will be lost so I have to make
screen copies to remember.
My present SD Card is 32mb so I guess I have to use a bigger one?
How do I get the image on my SD card? Download the zip-file and unzip it
on the SD card?

I never updated pcp because installing pcp/lms took me (years ago) very
very long and I think I read updating is not very simple. In the past I
installed it via an SD-card.

Thanks for your recommendation, I used wordpad before but I guess
Notepad plugging into winscp is more practical.

I searched for this issue, found this thread:
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109074-Playlist-not-saving-to-LMS/page2=playlist+temp+folder

and after adding 'uid-1001,gid=50' in the mount settings in
PiCorePlayer, new playlists are stored in the playlistfolder.
Thanks a lot for your help, I'm kind of addicted to LMS so I appreciate
it very much:)

One last question. I noticed double entries in my playlists. Is there a
way to prevent this and if not to easily search for them?

I searched and read this thread:
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109074-Playlist-not-saving-to-LMS/page2=playlist+temp+folder

So after adding 'uid=1001,gid=50' a new playlist is put in the playlist
folder! Fantastic. Thank you very much for all your help! I'm kind of
addicted to LMS so I appreciate this very much:)

Can I ask you one more thing. I have large playlists and I noticed that
sometimes I had put double entries in them. Is there a way to prevent
this or search for double entries?

I created a new playlist, did no rescan and searched it with WinSCP.
It's not 'playlists', not in 'music', not in multimedia. So now I asked
WinSCP to search my root of the NAS for every .m3u file since 10=3=2020.
So far, nothing found.

The puzzle is almost solved. I did as you instructed. Changed existing
playlists work perfect now, the changes are kept. Thank you very much
for that. But when I create a new playlist it disappears. In the
scanning results it says that 1 playlist is removed (and thats my new
one). Any idea?

But when I click on a specific playlist it is NOT the same. It differs.
My playlist 'Prince Quiet.m3u' has the owner 'ssods', and my playlist
'OMD All' has the owner '500'. Both owners have different and not full
rights. Guess everything has to be changed to the owner 'admin' which
owner has full rights to my folder 'Music' and
'Playlists'?2975929760

Thank you, that's a bit of a relief. I just downloaded WinSCP. I assume
its about the permissions of the NAS.. (and not Pi). First time I tried
to reach the NAS I got a Network time out :(

In Qnap (web) I can see that there exists a user that is not listed in
Explorer when I rightclick on the Multimedia-folder and go for
properties. Perhaps I should add this user?

I have Putty but don't know how it works

I don't know how to do this via Qnap Shared Folders. I use Windows 10. I
can see my Qnap in the Explorer. When I click
Network\\QnapNas\Multimedia\Music (or any subfolder) and Properties, I
can see that there is full acces for every owner (I have 3). When I
click Advanced I can see that this permission is for 'only this folder'
so I changed this (for each owner) to 'this folder, subfolders and
files'. But afterwards it is not changed!? Should I also click the
button 'Inheritance' and mark the box 'Replace all child objects...'? Or
perhaps I should only do this with my playlist folder?

Cifs. I Just followed An online instruction manual so I'm not aware of
the differences between Them. Should I simply switch to NFS OR is there
more to IT then a simple click?

CIFS. I just followed on online installation manual so I'm not aware of
the differences. Change it?

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Playlist issue LMS / raspberry Pi 3 / Nas

2020-03-13 Thread dej...@kraanendejong.nl

Hi all,
I use LMS 7.9.1 on a Raspberry Pi3 and use PiCorePlayer. My music and
playlists are stored on a Nas (Qnap TS269 pro). The playlists I use are
a few years old. I discovered that when I add new playlists or add songs
to my existing playlists, the changes (and the new playlists totally)
disappear after a scan of my mediacollection. I guess somewhere
something is wrong with the writing permissions?
Does anyone have a clue to solve this problem?
Ton

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Double entries in playlists

2020-01-27 Thread dej...@kraanendejong.nl

I use a lot of (long) playlists and keep adding music to them. Sometimes
it happens that I add a track that's already there. Is there a way to
search for possible double entries? It would be nice when you would get
a notification when you add a track that's already there, like the
Spotify does. I have the playlist manager installed.
