I do check back as I have to believe some talented coders who are mac users will provide the automation. In the interim, recreating the xml file and either re-scanning or letting the scheduled scan take place will suffice. leeper's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10162 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112369 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Works for me. Hi, I was wondering if you ever got this sorted. I had the same issue but thanks to some senior posters here I was able to get it to work manually. In the new Music app go to file and export Library. That will create an XML file that LMS uses. Place it in a library and in the LMS interface server settings go to the iTunes tab and where it gives you the option to tell LMS where the xml file location is enter the path to the newly created file. Make sure you include the entire path including the library.xml file itself. I also ticked off the use iTunes but i'm not sure if that's needed or not. I also followed the advice of others and gave full disk access to perl, bash and perl 5.18. After re-scanning all my old playlists appeared again but here is the catch. Every time you change a playlist you will have to repeat the xml creation and the rescan. Not terrible but something to remember unless you can figure out the scripting of the xml creation. I couldn't,lol. leeper's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10162 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112369 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on MacOS 10.15 "Catalina"?
I'm also on 10.15.7 mac os and while my LMS sees all my music from the new music app location it fails to find my playlists although they appear in the Music application. I was running LMS 7.9 and tried to follow the steps others have taken; I gave perl and bash full disk access along with 5.18 but same results. Everything is ok except the playlists. I tried disabling the iTunes plugin but that made no difference. I got a couple of fatal errors in LMS about two instances of LMS running in the system but that seems to have cleared up. I created a library export from the Music app which creates an xml file which I placed in the Music folder, rescanned but no change other than the scan say there are over 2 thousand playlists (when in fact there are 196) but still shows no playlists. So I'm at a loss. I feel like an english major in a crowd of pre med students, expected to know more than I reasonably could. Been a user since my first classic squeezbox in the early 2000's, which died only a couple of months ago and was replaced a Touch. If anyone has any insight or clarification to my issue please don't hesitate to respond. leeper's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10162 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111037 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 7.9 and 8.0 both show only one playlist
Hi, I have a new iMac running OS 10.15.7 and the latest version of iTunes. I opened LMS 7.9.3 and it was fine. Everything migrated successfully but two days ago, after a reboot, all of my playlists disappeared from LMS only. They appear in iTunes. I rescanned and it says there are 196 playlists but only one appears in the web browswer and it's for a podcast that I didn't download. I read the threads that seemed to apply and added perl and bash ( bashbug in my case) but no change. I upgraded to 8.0 LMS but no change. ok I fixed it I think. I exported the library.xml file from iTunes, pointed LMS to that and all the missing stuff appeared. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Tried this in the beginners section but think maybe it sb in here.
OK so in digging deeper I notice that some items are missing from existing playlists as well. So for instance in iTunes a playlist titled Pink Martini has x albums and 109 songs byt when I display that Playlist in LMS it shows 95 songs and is missing an album I added to iTunes few months ago. The songs and the album appear under Artists or Albums or songs. Another weird thing. For a couple of years my LMS when displayed via MAC OS system preferences always appeared as starting, never started and the web control and advanced settings were always greyed out. I reported it but since my LMS was working in every way other than this it was never fully investigated. After updating to the current beta build of LMS that has seemingly been corrected and it at least is working normally. So all the songs and albums in iTunes are being accessed and displayed by LMS on the web interface and on the squeezebox but there are missing items in Playlists on the LMS and whatever I do to the iTunes playlists is not reflected in LMS. I'm thinking of loading a back release of iTunes to see if something got broken by some update to release 12. leeper's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10162 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109552 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I have tried entering the path to my iTunes music files but it has made no difference to the issue. In the basic setting you ask about, doesn't "saved playlists" refer to LMS playlists and not iTunes ones? leeper's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10162 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109552 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I removed the audiobooks which seemed to be causing the error. The new playlist contains 6 songs at 79MB. If I change the names of the existing playlists that do get reflected in LMS the name does not change after scanning. It's almost like there are two versions of playlists in iTunes and LMS is constantly finding the old one not the updated one. leeper's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10162 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109552 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Tried this in the beginners section but think maybe it sb in here.
Hi everyone, this is my setup currently Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 1522157629 @ Fri Mar 30 12:22:47 CEST 2018 Hostname: x Server IP Address: 192.168.1.10 Server HTTP Port Number: 9000 Operating system: OS X 10.11.6 - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: x86_64 Perl Version: 5.18.2 - darwin-thread-multi-2level Audio::Scan: 0.95 Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1) Total Players Recognized: 1 Player Model: Squeezebox Classic Player Type: squeezebox2 Firmware: 137 Player IP Address: 192.168.1.5 Player MAC Address: 00:04:20:ff:ff:01 Wireless Signal Strength: 56% My media library is iTunes and it's on 12.8.0.150 on an iMac circa 2009. I just noticed that any change I make to my iTunes playlists, changing name, adding playlist, or deleting playlist does not get reflected in LMS. I have tried all of the rescan options but none of the changes are taking. The songs that I added DO appear under the song title or the artist name but I can't get the playlists to reflect any changes. NO matter what I do on iTunes the LMS rescan always comes up with 172 playlists and when i use the online player it shows only 161.
