Finally got back to looking at this post, and the one thing that was missing was under Problem 1/STEP ONE, I hadn't added added bash for Full Disk Access. Did that, restarted LMS, and I'm back in business. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS running but can't access media files
Hi. I am v 8.30 of LMS on a mac running v 12.1. I too could no longer see my library on an external disk, but turning "start LMS automatically" off at start up fixed that. BUT - LMS when it scans is not finding any of music files, even though it now points to the right place. In my case: /Volumes/OWC Mercury Elite Pro/CD Library I read earlier posts about adding perl and ssh to the full disk permissions, but I don't know how to do that or where to find those files. Any and all help is appreciated. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS running but can't access media files
Just wanted to update this thread. After some troubleshooting I have been able to isolate the external drive access problem and reliably correct it (albeit with a manual LMS restart). When I installed LMS I could not get *Automatically start server when system boots* to function. I switched to *Automatically start server at login* and LMS would start on a reboot/login. Tonight, after the system had been up for several hours and unable to access the external media, I shut down LMS and then immediately restarted it. All of a sudden my external media was accessible. I rebooted and LMS could no longer access the drive (using the *Automatically start server at login* setting). I again shut down LMS and immediately restarted it. Again, all my external media was accessible. I tried Auto start at boot again and LMS didn't start at reboot. So, I completely disabled Auto start and manually start LMS after a reboot. It is consistently able to access the external media. This problem reminds me of an old Wifi problem years ago with Powerbooks whereby they would fail to connect to a network at boot because the Wifi hardware driver hadn't yet loaded when the system called for the connection to the access point. It was eventually fixed by Apple with ZERO notification to anyone. Anyway, hopefully toggling LMS off/on helps others using external media drives. avalonpb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2495 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115647 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS running but can't access media files
Having the same issue here. I just had to replace my 2010 Mac mini Sierra LMS server with an M1 running Big Sur. I have done everything in the Mac OS Mojave-Montery thread: https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?115521-Fixing-LMS-issues-with-Mac-OS-Upgrade-from-Mojave-to-Monterey-(and-Big-Sur-Catalina) As well as all the troubleshooting I've found in this thread. Everything works fine *until* I reboot the M1 server: LMS scans the library and I can play music on all my players. After reboot: LMS looses all access to the external volume. My SB Touch gives an error it can't read the file upon playback (the Booms error out with a shorter file access error), and rescanning the library deletes all music from the database. The only oddity I've noticed in the external volume file structure is the .localized folder courtesy of Apple's Music app. At this point I've reverted to an old ReadyNAS install of LMS -which is working fine on 7.9. 37036 +---+ |Filename: Screen Shot 2022-01-25 at 9.12.36 AM.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=37036| +---+ avalonpb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2495 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115647 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
