Freerunner GPIO locations
hi all, apologies if this question is answered elsewhere, i've done lots of searching of the openmoko wiki and the web, and can't find an answer i'd like to interface my freerunner with hardware switches to control some software. i believe gpio is the best way to do this, and have help from various bodies at my local maker space to do so. problem is, i can't locate the gpio pins on the motherboard. are there any schematics out there with their location? ideally something which relates them to the nodes in /sys/class/gpio/ cheers, -- robin What the world needs now is love sweet love ___ support mailing list support@lists.openmoko.org https://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/support

problems with qtmoko and kernel modules
hi, i upgraded qtmoko (not sure which version, how do i check?) a couple of weeks ago, and tried to login via ssh last night. the red LED started flashing (kernel panic if i recall correctly?), and the phone froze. ssh was refused, with a 'no route to host' error. i rebooted, and ran lsmod, which returned nothing, no modules loaded. so, i tried depmod and got an error that /lib/modules/ was missing i looked in /lib/modules, and the only folder there was different to my kernel number (gleaned from running uname -a). what's happened here, can anyone help me fix it? the kernel version i'm running is 2.6.29-rc3-v26 the modules installed appear to be 2.6.29-rc3-v21 my upgrade method was the one described here: http://qtmoko.org/wiki/Update cheers -- robin Auckland's Creative Space - http://tangleball.co.nz/ http://bumblepuppy.org/blog/ ___ support mailing list support@lists.openmoko.org https://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/support

this probably seems like an odd question, but why does metallic stuff stick to the back of my freerunner? i noticed yesterday, that it had picked up a usb connector that was lying next to it. it wasn't near the speaker, so i know it's not the magnet in that. the area in question is directly behind the battery connectors (i.e. away from the battery), pretty much behind the bottom-left corner of the screen, and is about 30mm x 30mm. it's more noticeable with the back taken off i had a look at the schematics, and couldn't see anything that's likely to be magnetic, so i'm guessing something has become magnetic at some point since manufacture. the battery has been out for nearly 24 hours now, so it's something semi-permanent, not electromagnetic any ideas? cheers ___ support mailing list support@lists.openmoko.org https://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/support

evince related to instability in 2008.9
well, i tracked down the cause of the crashing problems i was getting with 2008. turns out it was related to evince i re-flashed the os on monday, and everything wasfine, until i installed evince with opkg; E crashed before it was installed, let alone running, and kept crashing every so often afterwards, usually when i was firing up messages or notes i uninstalled it, and it's been great for the last two days, so i thought i'd try again, to be thorough; sure enough, before opkg had finished the config, it threw a segfault any ideas why this is happening at install time? could it be due to the huge size of the .desktop file? it looks like it has every language known to man in there - something like 200kb iirc ___ support mailing list support@lists.openmoko.org https://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/support
display glitches after rotate
i'm using a couple of very simple (one line each) shell scripts in 2008.9 to manually change the screen orientation. problem is, after the rotation is done, there are lots of artifacts, covering about a quarter of the screen. i can get rid of them by tapping anywhere on the desktop, but since i have so many icons, this is getting difficult is there a command i can run from bash, and hence put in my shell scripts, that will force the screen to refresh and remove the glitches? i don't want to use the rotate C programme, i find it's too inconsistent relying on the accelerometers to do this thanks ___ support mailing list support@lists.openmoko.org https://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/support
