[pfSense Support] about the multi-language in webgui 2.0

2010-11-15 Thread 杨文卫
Hi
I am new here, but I have a question with webgui2.0 .

HOW can I use the messages.po and messages.mo file?
I put the a test.php file in /usr/local/www, like this
putenv('LANG=zh_CN');
setlocale(LC_ALL, 'zh_CN');
bindtextdomain(messages, '/usr/local/www/language');
textdomain(messages);
echo gettext("Status");
?>
I use poedit in my winxp pc, open the messages.po from
http://pfsense.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/pfSense/usr/local/www/language/en/LC_MESSAGES/
and translate the "Status" to "状态", then save it , I get the files messages.po
and messages.mo.
PUT the messages.po and messages.mo to
/usr/local/www/language/zh_CN/LC_MESSAGES/
Open my browser with the URL HTTP://192.168.1.1/test.php, it display "Status",
not "状态"。
BUT IF I TRANSLATE "Status" to "zhuangtai"(or any string with letter and
number),save it,put the two file to /usr/local/www/language/zh_CN/LC_MESSAGES/
Open my browser with the URL HTTP://192.168.1.1/test.php, it display
"zhuangtai"(or any string with letter and number).
By the way,when I bulit the pfsense.iso, I retain
zh_CN.GB18030、zh_CN.GB2312、zh_CN.GBK、zh_CN.UTF-8andzh_CN.eucCN in the dir
/usr/share/locale/, and installed pfsense.iso in virtualbox on winxp pc,
I have anothe pc with same freebsd 8.1 , install lighttpd php5 gettext with
ports , I THINK I allmost got the SAME ENV TO PFSENSE2. I PUT THE MO. PO FILES
AND OPEN THE TEST.PHP. THE BROWSER DISPLAY CORRECT.

WHERE IS WRONG ?
AND HOW CAN I FIX IT?

Could you explain the difference in behavior of the static IPsec
endpoints vs. the roaming IPsec endpoints? Ie, the static ones were
not affected by the default LAN rule to direct traffic into the
failover pool, but the roaming clients were.

[pfSense Support] CARP IP/Hyper-V/Hyper-V R2

2010-11-15 Thread Dimitri Rodis
I recently migrated a pfSense virtual machine (version 1.2.2) that was
running flawlessly on Hyper-V (first release) with 2 additional CARP IP
addresses on the WAN interface for about 16 months. Over the weekend, I
migrated that virtual machine over to a Hyper-V R2 machine, and all was well
except that the 2 additional CARP IPs do not respond to traffic (although
traffic to/from/in/out of the WAN's actual IP works fine). After rebooting
nearly every piece of equipment between the servers and the ISP, the only
thing that made the CARP IPs work again was migrating the virtual machine
back to the original Hyper-V (non-R2) host.

Any ideas on why CARP IPs wouldn't work on Hyper-V R2? Is there something
since 1.2.2 that might change this?

Thanks,

Dimitri Rodis

I do not know a lot about Hyper-v but in VMWare for instance you can
block frames with 'faked' mac-addresses. Probably you hit the same
problem as CARP-packets have MAC-addresses 'not real' but specifically
crafted. Weird thing though in your e-mail is that you mention only one
virtual machine... do you use CARP-IPs with one pfSense? if yes then why
would you need such set up?

In my experience, all SSDs are not to be trusted either :-(

I have an OCZ Vertex 30 GB drive in my desktop as the boot drive.
4 months ago, the drive started dying ... then 2 months ago I got a
new under RMA.
I've been running on the new drive for 2 months without problems, and
it just died too. Windows feezes up, then BSOD. POST won't even see
the drive ... completely dead.

(They have a jumper to make it boot from a failsafe drive BIOS, and
that works. I can completely wipe the drive and get it working again
... that lasted 2 months on the previous drive).

-Jeppe
