Pidgin not connecting to Yahoo IM
Hello I am running Pidgin 2.4.1 on Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 LTS I used to be able to access chat for both MSN & Yahoo But for some reason now I cannot access Yahoo in Pidgin in Linux but can in Yahoo Messaging client in MSWindows Would anyone know what might have changed ? Hello, change the Pager Server (in the Advanced options by your Yahoo account) to cs101.msg.mud.yahoo.com. Update to Pidgin 2.5.7, and make sure you update both Pidgin and Libpurple. It is likely Yahoo eventually got around to disabling all servers providing access to the old login method. In the end, upgrading Pidgin to version 2.5.7 or getting a version backported with the fixes from your package provider is the only way to fix this issue. http://pidgin.im/download/ubuntu/ provides directions for obtaining updated Pidgin packages for Ubuntu releases.
