Cyberzen, next time you crash, when you start SM again, could you type
about:crash in the browser address bar and include what is displayed in
your next post??

I think the info contained in the reports helps those in the know to
find out whats going on.

SM 1.1 saves route to pic files

2011-03-17 Thread DoctorBill

I do online banking and stocks.

I routinely save screenshots of balances and purchase summaries in jpg
format as an ongoing record.

NOWif I go to save some picture file when I am NOT on a financial
site, the Save As... function pops up with the hidden financial files

and shows them their location to WHOEVER is on my computer !

I wouldn't care except if some burglar got into my house while I am away
and got on my computer, he would know where to look to find my records !

I know SeaMonkey saves that Save As... location on one of it's files.

Question is - which of SM 1.1's files is that location saved to ?

Can anyone tell me which file it is ?

SeaMonkey remembers to where you last saved a downloaded file. To
change this behavior:

Select [Edit Preferences] on the menu bar.

On the Preferences window, select [Browser Downloads].

On the Downloads pane, under When saving a file, select the Save to
radio button and setup a file location that is NOT where you want to
save the images of your financial transactions.

This will always select the same download destination. Then, when you
do download financial images, move them elsewhere.

I get lots of those Flash crashes on my multiple computers
(Debian/Linux, Windows XP Pro. SP3 and 64-bit W7 HP) even if I use
FlashBlock extension to avoid Flash. I keep my softwares updated. Flash
is just buggy. :(

that's it, I had set off flashblock, relying on adblock plus, and I set
flashblock on again after having seen on the web that my release of
flash is causing crashes on firefox too

now I wait and see what happens

Size of email folders..

2011-03-17 Thread No
Hello all, is there a way to figure out the size of email folders? I
thought there was and not sure how to find the info.

The reason I need it is, my messages are taking up 40% of my disk space,
so I want to figure out which folders most of them are in so I can cull
it/them.

Mail Inbox Truncation

2011-03-17 Thread Paul T. Karch
The last couple of days, when I have been downloading my
email, I sporadically get a popup window saying something to
the effect that an error has occurred in truncating
Inbox.mbx(?) please delete this file. I haven't deleted the
file but after clicking the OK button the download continues
apparently without problems.

But I am wondering if I am losing any emails. One person
told me he sent me emails but I haven't received any since

Jan. 30th from him.

I have a LOT of emails saved in Inbox and subfolders of
Inbox - probably between 50k and 100k. And filters to route
them.

I use Windows XP Pro and AVG scans for viruses.

Any insight/advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Top-right of the message-folder-pane drop down menu (odd looking
icon) select from Unread, Total (number of messages in sub-folder),
or Size (size of sub-folder).

If you are like me, and have sub-folders going down a couple of levels,
the number and sizes are only for each sub-folder, so to get the
total-size of a folder, you'll have to sum the individual sub-folder sizes.

I'll suggest repairing the folder via right-mouse-click on the
Inbox-folder, scrolling down and clicking on Properties, and clicking on
the Repair Folder button, although I suspect you've already tried
repairing the folder.

In Windows Explorer (assuming you have it), right-click on the folder
name and choose Properties. You get the raw size, the size on disk
(i.e., the total size of all the clusters occupied by the file even if
some clusters are not full), and the number of files and folders
contained in the folder in question. File sizes are given in MG (GB) and
in bytes.

VML code showing

2011-03-17 Thread wadori
I have created all the webpages at www.praxisenamericalatina.org using
SeaMonkey. They were all fine until just recently. “Suddenly” code,
such as !--[if !vml]-- and !--[endif]-- is appearing on the web
pages that I previously created when viewed in IE. The pages are fine
in Firefox. I did a web search and found a site that said that this
was due to the fact that IE no longer supports VML, and offered the
following code to add to the head section of the document to fix the
problem:

 meta http-equiv=X-UA-Compatible content=IE=7

I added this code at http://praxisenamericalatina.org/12-10/colombia.html,
but it didn’t help. Does anybody know what I can do to fix this? I
can go through each page and simply delete the VML code, but that
would be an awful lot of work. I hope there is a better fix. Note:
The new pages that I just put up today seem to be fine.
