In my point of view this addon is one of the best thing to manage embedded media of all kinds, one can choose the player he wants for each... this can be done at will when the user decides. it is more usable than leaving the files associations of windows to decide as each piece of software installed has made its own mess in it. besides I am enjoying the stream of music... thank you -- cyberzen ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
Perl/PHP-scripts for receiving http/https publishing from SeaMonkey
According to http://www.sandiego.edu/webdev/files/ https-publishing is possible in SeaMonkey: SeaMonkey does not support secure ftp, but it does support secure http publishing and has a robust and easy to use web editor. Your publishing URL should be https://files.sandiego.edu/https.cgi;. Your subdirectory should be public_html for home directories, or Sites/folder for Departmental pages (replacing folder with the folder of your site). Where can I find scripts that could receive the upload and place the file in the correct folder: https.cgi, https.php, http.cgi or http.php? I need this on my site because where I work they have blocked all protocols except HTTP and HTTPS and I need to be able to update some web sites. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

JS issue with Google maps/SM 2
Can't get Google maps to respond -- it seems to load OK, but the moment I start typing an address, it says loading... and then stops. Their help file says this (out of date?): [begin quote] If you are running Mozilla Firefox 0.8+ or Netscape 7.1+ on Windows or Mac OS X, follow these steps: 1. Type about:config in the browser's address bar. 2. Type image in the Filter field. 3. Look for the field dom.disable_image_src_set and verify that the value is set to FALSE. 4. Look for the field network.image.imageBehavior is set to 0 (the default setting). In some browsers, this setting may be named permissions.default.image. If you continue to experience difficulties, you may want to uninstall any programs or extensions that change the way your browser handles JavaScript. Other users have reported that these programs may affect the ability to view the maps. [end quote] What do these options really do? More specifically, how would I be changing SeaMonkey's behavior generally and on other sites? My settings are currently false and 1, respectively. For permissions.default.image, this is the default, despite their statement. This page seems to think 0 is not an option and 1 should allow all images: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Permissions.default.image Thanks. -- War doesn't determine who's right, just who's left. -- Paul B. SM Mail Filter Edit...bug?
I've noted that on most Edit attempts I get the error - This filter cannot be saved because some search terms are invalid in the current context. - when I try to Save a Filter rule set after Edit. But if I hit the Save button enough times (like three, in general) the filter does actually appear to be saved as edited. Now, no matter how long I wait (and I do have a broadband connection, I can download about 25 MB per minute), it doesn't work. The status bar says Done before I enter the address, and the spinner isn't moving, either. Doesn't matter. The moment I start typing, the yellow shaded Loading... appears at top, and when I hit Enter or Search Maps, I get (in quick succession): Looking up maps.google.com Waiting for maps.google.com Done but the map is still the entire North American continent. Not when you open many links (tabs) per day by right-clicking on the link. I can certainly get used to it, but to arbitrarily change the UI from 2.1b2 to 2.1b3 does require some muscle memory retraining. The change slows down productivity (for the time being). Did you know SeaMonkey had tabs on top before all the browsers? Just collapse all the tool bars and you will see what I mean. Yes, I am going out on a limb with that statement. You are as I've never seen tabs on top. Got a screenshot of tabs on top with SeaMonkey? The first thing I did after installing FF4 was to put the tabs back on the bottom where (IMO) they belong. You see, when you work with tabs on a regular basis it makes no sense at all to have to move the mouse above the URI/URL/Address bar to select a tab. The tab/window area is the main workspace.
