That what I do - delete message. Why even bother downloading what you

Not so. I just subscribed to that newsgroup& before reading the

Keep in mind that NG filters are applied and in effect _after_ you've
created the filter. There is no ability (that I'm aware) the 'Run Now'
in NG's as there is in emails.

Hint re your list spammer... an easy nuke to that one is to filter on:
X-Complaints-To: groups-ab...@google.com
(you can also send your complaints there as well)

Sorry forgot another hint - the offensive one also cross posts to
multiple groups:

Newsgroups:
comp.sys.mac.apps,rec.music.beatles,alt.support.boy-lovers,alt.sports.baseball.ny-yankees,alt.politics.homosexuality

It's quite easy to set up a crosspost filter:

Filtername: Crosspost
Match all of the following
Newsgroups contains ,
Yep, just filter on the comma.

Sounds interesting I might have to setup such a Filter.

NG filtering is working for me, and in fact working a bit too

I've have this filter in place for a very long time (I delete them so I
never see them) & I set it for the entire news servers rather than just
the newsgroup. And some individual filters (again google/googlegroups)
Example from mozilla.dev.apps.seamonkey:

Applied filter "Injection-Info: googlegroups.com" to message from
thurman jude - Youngest Chicks Xxx || Younger
Pron Movies || Young Videos at 02/20/2012 04:19:35 PM deleted

Applied filter "Injection-Info: googlegroups.com" to message from
thurman jude - Nubile Underage Porn || Virgin
Porn Movies || Extreme Hentai Porn at 02/20/2012 04:20:01 PM deleted

Yes, I may miss some valid posts, but I prefer the quiet rather than the
spam.

misunderstood about how "Delete Messages" is accomplished.

We can't do it in the newsgroups, but we can set our NG message
*filters* to delete them, so that we never have to see them. It is so
nice. :)

SM 2.8 - Can Advanced Property Editor popup be disabled?

2012-03-23 Thread chicagofan

I have to use HTML in e-mail, but do not have a web page, or any reason
[I am hoping] ... to need an "advanced property editor".

I cannot compose e-mails now without this popup box appearing several
times, and I have no idea what I am doing to prompt this. If possible, I
need a way to disable this popup.

Is there anyone here who is familiar with this editor, knows if I can
safely disable it, and how?

TIA for any advice.

Completely configurable, works 100% reliably, and on the only

(took about 2 minutes to complete).

Philip Taylor

I also use EaseUS products, free and paid for. They work great. Just did
a drive/system restore with EaseUS TODO Backup and it worked like a charm.

As for backup stratgies, I do a daily drive image of the boot disk (C:\)
and the Programs and Data drive (in my case, G:\). I also so daily
backups of my Mozilla products profiles (just for ease of restoration of
individual files). I also do separate backups of various data folders,
for the same reason.

As Chris said, there is little point to doing a backup of the Mozilla
products' install folders. You can always download them and install
them. It's the data/profile folders that you need to backup. Regularly.

There's a lot more to backup strategies. Do a Google search and educate
yourself.

BTW, I always do FULL backups, not incremental or differential. I keep
at least two days of backups on an external drive then periodically
delete the backups I don't need to save drive space.

I use EaseUS' TODO Backup Workstation to manage backups of all the
computers on my LAN. Essentially, you install TODO Backup on all clients
and Workstation on one main (server) computer. On the main computer you
can them use Workstation to backup whatever you want on all the client
computers. Again, works like a charm.I

FWIW, I also in the past have used Acronis True Image Home sw for
backup. they have totally screwed it up over several generations and I
stopped buying updates to it and do not use it at all anymore. it used
to be almost an industry standard but the (Russian) company has totally
lost track. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. It's a dog. And I
love dogs. :-)

Thanks so much, Phillp and Ed. This project has been sidelined,
because of other problems, but I have saved your messages, for when I

As I mentioned, I think in my case it's a configuration issue

Played fine in Chromium. But in FF, SM, and Opera I only got a
black
window. I then reinstalled an mplayer package (again linux),
reloaded FF and SM, and now the video plays just fine in FF, SM,

So, were I you I'd go looking for similar streams as you were

I don't see that this question calls for Microsoft and/or Windows 8

Windows 8 also.

And it does, except for this menu issue with the touchscreen (or at
