Glad to hear. I knew I wasn't losing my mind. When I first installed

straight downloader and that worked just FINE.

Adobe made the same stupid decision some years back and I couldn't get
ANY of their plugins to work properly till someone showed me where I
could download them directly. Thankfully, Adobe did away with that
procedure. One can only hope that Garmin does too (or at least learns
how to build the xpi PROPERLY).

It may have just been a network issue. Try again.

Exactly the same result two days later.

I don't know. Try it with add-ons disabled.

Just tried that, no joy.

I really think it's because I'm not subscribed. Nothing else accounts
for this.

Just subscribed, and the message went through instantly on the first
try. Ed was right.

Paul, as ChrisI mentioned, a couple of days ago he posted to moz.test to
check out if he had a problem. I'm fairly certain (or I'd assume) that
ChrisI would have been subscribed to moz.test previously, and for this
test post, which worked, I guess he un-subscribed, posted the test
message, then re-subscribed to check.

I'm wondering if there might have been some sort of machine memory at
work in this case i.e. ChrisI's 'puter or the Moz server
"remembered" that ChrisI had been subscribed to the server, so when this
test post rocked up, it was let through, where as you, Paul, may never
have been subscribed to moz.test/m.d.a.seamonkey (which I think was the
original "problem" group), so when your message showed up, Paul, it/they
were rejected.

Paul, if you think what I've hypothesised above makes any sort of sense,
can you subscribe to moz.test, post a message, check it arrives,
un-subscribe from group, send another test, re-subscribe and see if
things are different to your current situation?

(Do I really want to post this "drivel"?? If nothing else, it might
prove a negative. O.K.)

just to jump inI've x-posted to moz.gen from a machine that's never
been subscribed and it worked. So that case disproves the "have to
subscribe to post" theory for one computer in the world but not much else.

Try creating an account for PSP X-4, and when you set the account up be

I spoke too soon, it seems. Looks like I never installed the

That's correct, i had installed Garmin Communicator version 4.0.1.0.

column. In my sent folders, I do want to show this column and not From
column. Is there a way to do this? It seems like the changes take

Thank you in advance. :)

By default my Inbox has Sender, and Sent has Recipient.

Just did a "Restore Column Order" to confirm, and nothing changed.

Lnr,

Try creating an account for PSP X-4, and when you set the account up be
sure it is set for HTML messaging. Otherwise when you send images
inline you will have to press the Shift Key and click Compose. Be sure
to add the newsgroup address to your address book and select HTML as the
preferred messaging. You may have to open preferences for Mail to Send
Format and add the domain for the newsgroup into the HTML column.

Thank you, Michael,
I usually set everything to compose in HTML by default. Newsgroup posts
always recommend plain text and I have to specifically tell it to send HTML.

I'll go over the prefs *again* to see if I missed something.

JOOC, what if you insert it inline AND attach it? Does it stay inline
then?

(thinking it could be HREF-ing relatively instead of absolutely and
losing it.???)

I don't know, Geoff.
I'll have to try that, thank you.

Traditionally, post the issue in the body of the message mainly for
understanding AND search functions, etc.

Does that particular group allow the posting of images. Are other
posters posting images?

Oh Yes, Jay, images are not only allowed but encouraged. It's a
stationery group.

Custom columns for each SeaMonkey v2.17.1+'s mail folder?

Paul, if you think what I've hypothesised above makes any sort of sense,
can you subscribe to moz.test, post a message, check it arrives,
un-subscribe from group, send another test, re-subscribe and see if
things are different to your current situation?

prove a negative. O.K.)

OK, here are the results for your drivel.

1) Subscribed to mozilla.test from this account, downloaded all posts
and marked all as read. Posted a test message. It went through
instantly. Got new messages, mine had arrived intact.

2) Unsubscribed from mozilla.test, opened the test message in my Sent
folder ("edit as new"), made sure to select the same account with the
munged email address as I had used the first time, tried to post. Got
two superimposed error messages:

a) In back:
 Sending message - Test
 Status: Assembling message...
Progress: [progress bar with green bit cycling endlessly]
 [Cancel]

b) In front:
 Send Message Error
 (!) Sending of message failed.
Please verify that your Mail & Newsgroups settings
 are correct and try again.

It didn't matter that I had previously subscribed. What mattered was
that I was not currently subscribed.

Saw one post by you in moz.gen, but no second one!

O.K., so my "drivel" was drivel!! No "machine memory".

So how/why did ChrisI succeed??
