Re: Misparsing of email address

I haven't been following this thread closely, so maybe this has already been answered, but just a thought... 1-Spam @ ACMArep...@submit.spam.acma.gov.au looks like what might be found in email headers, and should not appear like that in your address book. Have you checked that the address book entry is actually correct, i.e. that it has name set to 1-Spam @ ACMA and Email set to rep...@submit.spam.acma.gov.au? If 1-Spam @ ACMA rep...@submit.spam.acma.gov.au has been picked up from an incoming email (for example) and added to the address book, but was not properly quoted in the headers of that original email, it may be that an address book entry created from it would be incorrect. i.e. it may be that the problem occurred even earlier still, before the entry got into your address book, and may even be down to the program used to send that email to you not quoting the name correctly. Mark. Sorry, Mark, when I've been posting 1-Spam @ ACMArep...@submit.spam.acma.gov.au I've been meaning that the 1-Spam part is in the Name column of the Address Book whilst the part between theis in the Email column of the Address Book!! :-( -- Daniel User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.29 Build identifier: 20140829003846 or User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:33.0) Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.30 Build identifier: 20141009214701 ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
Email addresses with parenthesis are not pretty-printed
Hello, I posted a bug report a few weeks ago: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1069790 As far as I understand, there are two accepted formats for enhanced email addresses (providing name, along with the address itself) 1) Angle brackets: $NAME $ADDRESS 2) Parenthesis: $ADDRESS ($NAME) Mozilla uses format 1. In message lists, format 1 is pretty-printed (showing $NAME only, omitting $ADDRESS) while format 2 is printed in full (no pretty-printing) I am 60% sure that format 2 used to be pretty-printed (showing $NAME only). Is it possible to pretty-print format 2? I have tested Thunderbird (32.something) and it doesn't have a problem with format 2. (It even seems to convert format 2 to format 1, unless viewing the actual message source.) Can anyone reproduce, or is this issue only affecting me? Regards. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Password window for smtp server gmail (SeaMonkey 2.30 Linux)
I did setup SeaMonkey mail to retrieve mail from gmail accounts. I defined the smt outgoing server, but didn't find how to setup the password for this server. I have been asked to fill in the userid tho. I got once the window to fill in the password. Now I don't get that window in front when I push sent to sent an e-mail. I can't even close normally the sent window and the SeaMonkey mail window. I have to kill those windows and then I see that window where I have to fill in the password. In order to avoid this, I would prefer I could fill in the password in the smpt outgoing server configuration, but I don't see how to do this. Can this be done and if yes, how? ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
