I have the PrefBar extension, to which I added a checkbox to the PrefBar
tool bar that enables or disables AdBlock Plus. When I find a Web page
that will not load with AdBlock Plus enabled, I do the following:

1. Back out of the site.

2. Disable AdBlock Plus.

3. Select the link to the site.

4. Immediately thereafter, re-enable AdBlock Plus.

The Web server detects that AdBlock Plus is not enabled and thus allows
the Web page to download and display. The server cannot then detect
that AdBlock Plus is enabled and blocking ads.

Stealth Ad Blocker

2017-01-20 Thread Cruz, Jaime
I'm getting tired of all of these sites that refuse to display their
contents until I disable my Ad Blocker(s). Does anyone know of a
"Stealth" Ad Blocker that blocks ads, but can't be detected by the
websites? Something that signals to the server that the ad was
displayed but in reality was thrown into a bit bucket? Surely SOMEONE
has come up with something like that by now?

Works with it set to true.

Same as with my pc ...
But the problem is that the flag is named "autoplay.enabled""
when the autoplay is true, I understand that the video start.
and when the autoplay is false, I understand that the video doesn't start...
BUT when I click on the Icon to start the video, the video MUST start ...

BECAUSE of that, I am obliged to put this option TRUE ...GRR :-)

Therefore ... this option "media.autoplay.enabled" cannot be used

I suspect you don't change the profile several times a day. So, if you
first get the profile away from the app, and then get the mail out of
the profile, is makes copying just what has changed easier. And then,
have whatever function you use to copy, have it only copy what has
changed. There probably has not been a lot that has changed in a few
hours. And, make A match B can be a one button operation.

And, while "syncing" can be automated, I want any overwriting of files

I'm not seeing what's worth laughing out loud about.

What does it mean to not have "a functioning LAN"?

An entry-level NAT router with integrated 4-port switch + 802.11n Wi-Fi
costs around 30-50 USD/Euros. A basic switch costs less than a dinner
at the restaurant.

If having "a functioning LAN" solved your issue, then maybe
you should consider having one.

Re: ADB Helper & Valence extensions incompatible with SM v2.46?

2017-01-20 Thread Isaac Schemm

I just saw this post now, so I thought I'd reply.

Valence and ADB Helper both work perfectly for me in SeaMonkey (I'm
using 2.47) once I edit the install.rdf in the .xpi, so I've submitted a
couple patches to have SeaMonkey listed in the install.rdf. The ADB
Helper patch has been accepted already and the Valence one probably will
be too.

That being said, I might be the only person who's tried to actually use
them in SeaMonkey - mostly out of curiosity :)

Test with 2.48 indicated they are not installed in the background when
you open it but this might have changed in 2.47 or 2.48. Just let them
stay disabled or remove them. They will not work anyway.

You want to sync an email account, but not through the email server?
So IMAP is out of the question? Then obviously, you need to sync the

I'm approaching this from an OS agnostic point-of-view.
[See my reply to Ray Davison yesterday]
In my specific case it could be
   Linux <--> WinXP Pro
or
   Linux <--> Linux
Depending on conditions outside the scope of this thread.

Are they both in use simultaneously or alternatively?

A couple of days ago I would have said instantly "alternatively".
However today I discovered a use case that makes that distinction
a little murky.

For the purpose of this thread assume "alternatively".

Do you have local network storage available? (NAS, NFS server, etc).

If I currently had a functioning LAN, the whole question would be
moot <*LOL*>

IMHO, the question is too open-ended, at the moment.

To a large degree that was intentional and the reason I said "I
would like to hear the ideas of others before I muddy the
waters." No one else's environment/requirements would match mine
in detail. I wished to avoid the case of missing valuable
insights to the "problem space" be cause someone would say that
there solution couldn't be relevant.
