Hm- The latter is "Copy Link Location". I don't see "Copy Link".

You're right, of course, I misspoke.

I suspect this is because no text is selected, so "Copy" has
nothing to copy and leaves the clipboard intact (it doesn't copy a
null string and thereby clear the clipboard). But if that is so,
shouldn't "Copy" be grayed out?

If "Copy" is supposed to do nothing, then surely the menu entry

"Gray" is American, "grey" is British. Six of one, half-a-dozen of the
other, or as the Russians say, один черт ("one devil").

If you want to copy a link as text, you must first mark it, That is,
you place your cursor at one end (or just beyond to avoid triggering the
link) and -- holding down your keyboard's Shift key -- drag the cursor
to the other end.

Hm- The latter is "Copy Link Location". I don't see "Copy Link".
"Copy Link Location" works and "Copy" does nothing. But, I never used
"Copy" before, as far as I can recall, so I don't know if the behavior
was different in old times.

I'm using the last usable SM-Trunk and a recent Mail from Bugzilla.
There is always a link in those. :)

If "Copy" is supposed to do nothing, then surely the menu entry should
be greyed out. Greyed? Grayed? Hm.

But that is a very low issue on current SM-Trunk. ;)

5.8 GB of VM for a few tabs open sounds completely unreasonable.

Is there any work around other than quitting/restarting SM?

If all you did was "download" it, you haven't installed it.

But if you mean to say you "installed" it (which is what it looks like
from your user agent string), you're fine. The notice at
is still correct for people wishing
to upgrade from previous versions.

What will happen for future versions is anyone's guess -- "watch this

Context option "Copy" doesn't work with links

2018-03-26 Thread Paul B. Gallagher
If I right-click a link in an incoming or sent plain-text email, where
SM has already recognized the text as a link and displayed it in blue
underline, I'm offered options including "Copy" and "Copy link." The
latter works as expected, but the former does nothing.

I suspect this is because no text is selected, so "Copy" has nothing to
copy and leaves the clipboard intact (it doesn't copy a null string and
thereby clear the clipboard). But if that is so, shouldn't "Copy" be
grayed out?

Multi-selection not working in message lists

2018-03-26 Thread Andrey ``Bass'' Shcheglov
Hello,

I have Alt instead of Ctrl set as the default accelerator as described
in :

> user_pref("ui.key.accelKey", 18);
> user_pref("ui.key.menuAccessKey", 0);

This is the behavior Netscape 4.x used to have on Unices.

Surprisingly, starting with version 2.46, I'm no longer able to select
multiple mail/news messages with Ctrl key pressed (to be able to do so
in 2.46+, I have to revert ui.key.accelKey and ui.key.menuAccessKey to
their default values).

Version 2.40 was the last one not affected by this regression.

Is this a known problem?

Regards,
Andrey.

Yes, I'm just referring to Adblock appearing on my dropdown Tools menu.
I just enabled and disabled AB again, and now it has disappeared from my

I think in a case like this, it would be very useful to actually see
what you're referring to by "it did not disappear on my desktop". If
you can create a screenshot (see

and upload it to an image hosting site such as Dropbox, Google Drive,

It seems pretty clear to me since he said, "The laptops seem OK, as

list. But it did not disappear on my desktop [computer]" and "Anyone

Do you really need a screenshot of his desktop computer's SM Tools menu?

Reading the OP's post, I'm wondering if Tom hasn't got an icon on his
computers desktop (not just with-in his SM) and is wondering why this
desktop icon hasn't disappeared when the add-on has been deleted from
the SM Add-on's list.

May not be what Tom means, so a picture might help!
