No Last Pass

2018-04-23 Thread Eric
Had to re-install windows 10, now I can't make LastPass work. All of
the previous builds come up as corrupt unable to install. Current
version of Seamonkey doesn't support LastPass.

Please advise.

I suspect the OP was talking about marking messages as read, or as junk,
or setting their priority, or some other local function. Nobody else
needs to know how I personally mark the various messages on my machine.

With one exception, no newsreader application -- including SeaMonkey and
Thunderbird -- can change the status of newsgroup messages on a server.
The exception is that some servers allow the submitter of a message to
cancel that message. However, most servers today even prohibit that
action because of past situations in which fraudulent cancellations were
issued.

Furthermore, general newsgroups (e.g., the Big-8 hierarchies: comp.*,
news.*, sci.*, humanities.*, rec.*, soc.*, talk.*, and misc.*) are in a
distributed system. That is, there are a number of servers, not merely
one. A general newsgroup message posted to any server is quickly
propagated to all the other servers. Only proprietary servers (e.g.,
news.mozilla.org) stand alone.

No, he did need the plugin for FF:

Re: SeaMonkey on Windows XP

2018-04-23 Thread Daniel

xxyyz wrote on 23/04/18 14:40:

Thank you, Frank-Rainer.  I am not looking for changes to SeaMonkey - I
think you/ewong/et al have more than enough to do already.  I was just
hoping there is some S/W (codec or player or ... ) that would let me
play the panda cams (and some other videos that don't currently work).

I went through your link, and the strange thing is that the OP could
see his videos on XP using FF, but not SM.  The thread did not address
this, but it did offer a link to get a plugin for FF:
http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/175591-enable-mp4-h264-aac-html5-video-in-firefox-on-windows-xp-without-flash/

So I installed FF 52.7.3esr - the panda cams did not work; I installed
the plugin per the instructions in the link, and the panda cams worked!
So I installed the plugin in SM (following the FF instructions) and it
does not show up as a plugin and the panda cams still don't work.

Is there something you have to do in SM (but not in FF) to get it to
recognise and use a plugin?

xxyyz, as you state, you installed a Firefox extension in SeaMonkey and,
surprise, surprise, it didn't work!

I don't know if this is because you are trying to install a Firefox
extension in SeaMonkey or if it is because you are trying to install an
extension designed for later Win OS's onto a WinXP OS.

Have you tried to convert the Extension from Firefox mode to SeaMonkey
mode?? This can be done using a converter program/website, but,
unfortunately, I cannot recall the website.

Maybe someone will post the converter page! ;-)
