That was before Mozilla's Password Manager was fixed to save and use passwords at sites that try to block the use of password managers. I discovered that Lastpass saves your passwords on their server. Given the number of computer systems that are successfully hecked, I decided not to use it. Now, Mozilla's Password Manager works quite the way I want; and (better) my passwords exist only locally on my own computer. In your case, it is possible that Lastpass's server is down. SM never has asked me if I want to remember an email account password. I wish it would. this is a source of great irritation to me. Your problem is that a growing number of Web sites use JavaScript to handle logins, which is not supported by Password Manager. See bug #355063 at <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355063>. ... No, that wasn't his complaint. I'm assuming since he didn't say either way that he's talking about downloading POP mail, not viewing it on a webmail site. In that case, SeaMonkey should ask for the password and ask whether it should remember it. And that's been my experience in the past. Now back to the original subject. We do get that popup (for an IMAP account) and it does have the "remember" checkbox, but by default it is not checked. I want to change that (within a company) to show the checkbox checked when this popup appears. Anyone know how such a popup is constructed, how to find the piece of code where that happens, and if it is possible to change such a default? Maybe those popups are not even constructed in code but are defined in some xml or other resource file, which can be modified. I don't know. But best would be to change it using a pref, as I can modify those in my locked pref file that is automatically distributed to all users. Re: Problem Typing E-Mails with newest S.M.
Paul B. Gallagher wrote: Daniel wrote: Mort wrote: Hi, I'm running XP Pro, and the newest S.M. I have a problem which I did not have with earlier S.M. versions. Namely, oftentimes, while I am typing an e-mail, the cursor will jump to another line, several lines above what I already typed, and insert the new words in between some old ones. It does this too often, and without my touching the touchpad at all. It just did it while typing this, putting my newest sentence way at the top of the text. It is annoying and time-consuming to constantly correct these errors. Has anyone else had this problem? I can't be sure if it is an S.M. problem or not. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks. Mort Linder Mort, how long have you had this computer with the touchpad?? As I was reading your post, I was about to ask if you had a touchpad, because I'm fairly sure that's where your problem lies. I've had a similar problem with my laptop when I inadvertently brush the left mouse button in front of the touchpad. The problem goes away if I use a conventional mouse, which I prefer anyway because I find it easier to control than the touchpad. Wow! My wife has had the same problem and I could never figure out what she was inadvertently hitting. Why don't the pad buttons work the same as mouse buttons? Reinstalling the printer drivers helps sometimes but the problem sometimes returns later. I have been unable to detect a pattern, or find a way to repeat the problem. Searching the Mozilla archives this appears to be a known problem, but seems to be passed off to using old printer drivers. That is not my experiance, I have a brand new inkjet printer that sometimes prints garbage. No other application is affected. The mail server of my ISP told me that i am trying to spam - therefore he refuse to send my mail. So how many addresses were you trying to send to? A former ISP of mine had a limit of 25 recipients, else the message was sidelined. If yours is one of those ISPs, you'll need to break up your sending to<25 per message. Just curious, what is it you are sending? Are you forwarding email without removing other addresses from the *body* of the message? (Another no-no.) I regularly send club broadcast bulletins and messages to well over a hundred (in BCC), but I use a mailserver with my web host, where no limits are imposed. And if you try it again this time just click on the icon for bookmarks on the personal Toolbar and drag it to the customize window. not the whole personal toolbar. OK, Here's what happened. When I selected "customize" the personal toolbar changed to "personal toolbar items". I didn't recognize this so I dragged it to the customizing window. Ergo MY personal items disappeared. Not obvious to me (sigh) Thx to all who made suggestions ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
Re: SM 2.0.1 personal toolbar )bookmarks)

I mean the one SM adds that is named "Bookmarks", this isn't needed any way since "Bookmarks" appears in the top drop downs, and it takes up room that I need for other folders- I don't believe 2.0 did this Right click on that toolbar, choose Customize in the box that appears, and drag that extra Bookmark into the Customize box. bj I tried this and now my Personal toolbar is gone. It still shows in the bookmark file. I don't see a way to restore it. This might not seem to be a problem but let me explain. I have a laptop that I use when I travel. This week I started it to install new software from the web and update XP, etc. Email was retrieved while I was browsing. Now when I returned to my base system the email was no longer retrieved because SM thought was already read. Is there a setting that I couldn't find to suppress retrieval until the email program is started? Did you even look at the preferences pane before posting the question? It's RIGHT THERE when you go to mail & newsgroups preferences - a checkbox titled 'Only check mail when I start Mail & Newsgroups'!! If you've enabled that option and are still seeing this problem, well that's another matter. - Deliver yesterday, code today, think tomorrow. - Mea Culpa. Often the ID list is longer than the email content... what a waste You can choose to forward in-line that way you can snip everything but the message. Normally a Forward is set up as an attachment. That way it just forwards the message in its entirety, and tacks on your header Info. Forward inline still adds the email as an attachment??? Adding Helper Applications
In previous versions 1.x.x one could add helper applications and MIME types. I don't see how to do this in SM 2. What am I missing? ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
