Do the pages show images?

It sounds to me as if you have disabled CSS, the formatting of web page
presentation. Do you have any extensions installed, as for example, the
Web Developer Toolbar has this capability.

Do the pages show images? Some appear to display all images perfectly -
Facebook and MSNBC seem fine. Others pages display some pictures but
not others do not appear - Foxnews does this. And Linked-In shows up as
only text.

Disabled CSS? If I did that I have no idea how I did it. Can you tell
me how to re-enable it?

I think it is time for you to give some specific links where this occurs,
and to put up a screenshot or two of exactly what you see. Also
specify if

you have any ad-blocking extensions installed. Are third-party servers
 blocked? Is JavaScript disabled?
Screen shots of http://www.foxnews.com/ main page in SeaMonkey and IE
attached.

Add on manager indicates there is an issue with Java and it is disabled.
Java Platform SE6 U20 6.0.200.2 There is a note that says this causes
stability or security issues (screen shot attached)

I do not see an ad blocker extension.

Disabled CSS? If I did that I have no idea how I did it. Can you tell
 me how to re-enable it?

I already suggested that the Web Developer Toolbar is one way that can
happen. What extensions do you have installed?

I appear to have two toolbars: Navigation and toolbars - both are on. I
do not see a Web Developer tool bar.

Extensions listed are ChatZilla 0.9.89, DOM Inspector 2.0.13pre and
JavaScript Debugger0.9.89

Test, have a look at Tools-Switch Profiles. Do you see any profiles

they contain your missing e-mails.

If not, report back for more advice!!

Deleting the msf file and letting Seamonkey remake it seem to have fixed
my lost email problem.

That's one way. The other is to right-click the folder and choose
Properties. Then click the Repair Folder button.

I will try that next time I have a problem. Thanks.

I know that there there are two files that make a folder - one has the
the extension of msf. When I noticed a few files seem to have the wrong
info in the email, I guessed that there was a problem with the header
file which I suspected was the one ending in msf. From some other
problem I had years ago I knew that if I deleted the msf file, SeaMonkey
would regenerate it. I deleted the msf file for an effected folder and
it remade it correctly.

OK, how about this?

You forward the message inline, but when the composition window opens,
you edit the subject line to remove the [brackets] and the Fwd: and
substitute Re:; you can also modify the subject further if you like.

Will that get you what you want?

It does break with normal email convention, but you seem to want to do so.

I don't know; I'm out of ideas. :-/

While I know you have your reasons, I personally have never seen the
need to add such inline 'headers' to a Reply. I feel that the recipient
(the sender of that content) should know what he sent, and when.

AFAIK, none of my recipients have ever been confused by a simple:

John Doe wrote:

Do you do it often? If it is a rare occurrence, it wouldn't take you
more than a few seconds to just edit your content...

If you don't need the OE Contacts Addressbook, deleting this in
