Gallagher Thanks - I was hoping there was a setting in Preferences even if I couldn't find one. Original email addresses can be stripped (laboriously) by using the 'edit message as new' function but surely, if Micro$oft Outlook Express can provide it as an optional function, SeaMonkey can too ? ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Assuming "old addresses" means the original senders and recipients: 1) Forward inline, and edit the address fields as you see fit. Save the file. e) Restart SeaMonkey and look at the message in the temporary folder. The address fields should be blank. f) Forward the edited copy, not the original. Yes, You can reply "inline" instead of replying "as attachment" ! You can then edit out the un-desired lines. I agree ... we can delete anything (in a text or in a html forwarded mail) we see IF -> "Edit" - "Preferences" - "Mails and Newsgroup" - "Composition" The first option in "General" MUST be "inline" instead of "As Attachment" ... don't forget to click on "OK" after change(if any) Thanks for the replies - but that means any images etc in the email are lost. What I want to do is forward the whole email, images and all but without the original sender's email address. That's correct ... you should try to delete only the parts you want to removebecause an html mail that we forward show us a lot of sourrounding squares. If you try to select some part with the mouse then hit delete, sometimes the complete mail is deleted :-) As you have tested "Edit as new" coulde be better because the list of adresses is not part of the mail. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Re: Stripping email addresses when forwarding emails
Anne wrote: Is it possible to strip old email adresses when forwarding emails ? Short answer.Yes. 1. If the email is just text, then you can delete the addresses from your email prior to you sending it. 2. If the email is HTML, the way I normally do this is to save the email, open it in text editor (Notepad or similar), edit out the stuff you don't want, then cut and paste what you do want into a new email and send.
