I restarted SM (or was it restarting the computer?) and everything worked fine after that. Also, have you ever compacted that folder? It's worth a try. In reality it can also be issued if getting the on-disk size of the folder fails for any reason. Move the contents of the problem folder to the new folder. Point the filter to the new folder. Delete the old folder. Compact. Close and restart SM. Rename the new folder with the old name (the filter should automatically update).
